Overall, hardware sale this week increased by two percent. Week-on-week sales are up for the Wii, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Vita. Overall year-on-year sales are down by 16 percent. The Wii U is the only platform up year-on-year.
Two games debuted in the top 30 this week. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS$) debuted at number one with sales of 330,703. The Xbox One version debuted at number two with sales of 188,200. The PC version debuted at number four with sales of 107,545. The PlayStation 3 version debuted at number five with sales of 77,009. The Xbox 360 version debuted at number six with sales of 75,709. The game launched in North America and Europe.
Software milestones this week in the top 30: FIFA Soccer 14 (PS4) passed the two million mark.
Worldwide Hardware
Hardware home console sales week-on-week is up for the Wii, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PlayStation 4 sales are up 631 (1%) to 112,188 units sold. Xbox One sales are up 3,004 (6%) to 51,673 units sold. PlayStation 3 sales are down 70 (0%) to 41,532 units sold. The Wii U sold 34,585 units, an increase of 3,967 (13%). Xbox 360 sales are down 822 (-3%) to 24,836 units sold. The Wii sold 8,763 units, an increase of 565 (7%).
Handheld sales week-on-week is up for the Vita. The 3DS sold 82,735 units, which is a decrease 2,510 (-3%). The PlayStation Vita sold 28,545 units, which is up 1,186 (4%) compared to last week. The PSP is down 21 (0%) to 10,772 units sold. Total week on week sales are up 5,930 units (2%) to 395,629 units sold.
The Wii U is up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 74,475 (-64%), the Wii is down 19,254 (-69%), the Xbox 360 is down 39,390 (-61%), and the Wii U is up 10,502 (44%). The PSP is down 44,015 (-80%), the Vita is down 4,096 (-13%) and the 3DS is down 51,675 (-38%). Year on year sales are down 74,182 units (-16%).
Home console hardware sales have increased for the Wii U for two weeks and one week for the Wii, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Sales have decreased for one week for the PlayStation 3, and five weeks for the Xbox 360.
The PlayStation 3 has a 55 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 33 percent market share; and the Wii has a 12 percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 57 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 26 percent market share and the Wii U has a 17 percent market share.
Handheld hardware sales have increased for the Vita for one week and decreased for the PSP for one week and three weeks for the 3DS. The Vita has outsold the PSP for 33 straight weeks. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has increased this week to 54,000 units, from 58,000 units last week.
The 3DS has a 74 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a 26 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks all three handhelds are down.

Here are the other games in the top 10 that are not debuts: Minecraft (PS3) is at number three with sales of 126,041. inFAMOUS: Second Sun (PS4) is at number seven with sales of 58,551. Minecraft (X360) is at number eight with sales of 55,383. Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (PS3) is at number nine with sales of 41,571. Pokemon X/Y (3DS) is at number 10 with sales of 40,541.
Software home console sales week-on-week is up across the board. The PlayStation 3 sold 1,056,057 games, an increase of 86,413 units (9%). The Xbox 360 sold 779,236 games this week, an increase of 59,605 units (8%). The PlayStation 4 sold 581,753 games, an increase of 309,708 units (114%). The Xbox One sold 319,842 games, an increase of 178,320 (126%). Wii software sales are up 13,065 units (5%) to 279,553 games sold. The Wii U sold 151,238 games, an increase of 1,048 (1%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week is up for the DS, PSP, and Vita. The 3DS sold 400,543 games, which down 9,387 units (-2%). The DS sold 202.636 games, an increase of 4,570 units (2%) week-on-week. Vita game sales are up 2,851 units (2%) to 150,106 games sold. The PSP sold 68,290 games, an increase of 4,292 (7%). Total combined software is up 650,485 units (19%) week-on-week to 3.99 million.
Year-on-year software totals are up for the Wii U, and Vita. The PlayStation 3 is down 304,274 units (-22%), the Wii is down 163,237 units (-37%), the Xbox 360 is down 222,657 units (-22%), and the Wii U is up 46,565 units (44%). The DS is down 96,831 units (-32%), the PSP is down 60,973 units (-47%), the 3DS is down 359,734 units (-47%), and the Vita is up 29,639 units (25%). Total combined software is down 229,907 units (-5%) games sold year-on-year.

The PlayStation 4 has a 55 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 30 percent market share, and the Wii U has a 14 percent market share.
Handheld software sales have increase for the DS for two weeks, and one week for the PSP and Vita. Sales have decreased for the 3DS for three weeks. The 3DS and DS have remained above their rivals, the Vita and PSP respectively. The 3DS sold nearly three times more games than the Vita. The DS sold nearly three times as many games as the PSP.
The DS has a 75 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 25 percent market share. The 3DS has a 73 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has a 27 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago all four handhelds are down.

Good opening for the PC version of Wolfenstein. I believe that the 44GB size pushed some PC gamers to get it at retail instead of Steam.
