Overall, hardware sales this week are up by eight percent. Week-on-week sales are up for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita. Overall year-on-year sales are down by three percent. The Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and 3DS are up year-on-year.
Four games debuted in the top 30 this week. Battlefield: Hardline (PS4) is this week’s top debut. It debuted at number one with sales of 759,286 units. The Xbox One version debuted at number two with sales of 473,850 units. The PlayStation 3 version debuted at number five with sale of 107,586 units. The Xbox 360 version debuted at number 10 with sales of 66,535 units. The PC version debuted at number 25 with sales of 25,753.
There are no software milestones this week.
Worldwide Hardware
Hardware home console sales week-on-week are up for the Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PlayStation 4 sales are up by 52,874 (23%) to 286,139 units sold. Xbox One sales are up by 9,839 (10%) to 105,456 units sold. The Wii U sold 38,950 units, an increase of 3,986 (11%). PlayStation 3 sales are down by 4,067 (-10%) to 37,238 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are down by 1,746 (-8%) to 19,642 units sold. The Wii sold 1,833 units, a decrease of 160 (-8%).
Handheld sales week-on-week are up for the PlayStation Vita. The 3DS sold 138,120 units, which is a decrease of 16,478 (-11%). The PlayStation Vita sold 47,346 units, which is up 3,556 (8%) when compared to last week. Week on week sales are up by 47,804 (8%) to 674,724 units.
The Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and 3DS are up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 40,536 (-52%), the Wii is down 9,023 (-83%), the Xbox 360 is down 21,498 (-52%), the Wii U is up 1,952 (5%), the PlayStation 4 is up 49,318 (21%), and the Xbox One is up 10,247 (11%). The Vita is down 17,782 (-27%) and the 3DS is up 18,600 (16%). Year on year sales are down by 21,929 units (-3%).
Home console hardware sales have increased for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U for one week. Sales have decreased for the PlayStation 3 for three weeks.
The PlayStation 3 has 63 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has 34 percent market share; and the Wii has three percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has 66 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has 25 percent market share and the Wii U has 10 percent market share.
Handheld hardware sales have increased for the PlayStation Vita for two straight weeks and decreased for five weeks for the 3DS. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has decreased this week to 91,000 units, from 111,000 units last week.
The 3DS has 74 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has 26 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks both handhelds are up.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PS4) debuted at number three with sales of 461,177 units. The Xbox One version debuted at number eight with sales of 74,488.
Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 3 Deluxe Package (PSV) debuted at number 26 with sales of 24,256.
PriPara & Pretty Rhythm: PriPara de Tsukaeru Oshare Item 1450! (3DS) debuted at number 29 with sales of 20,605.
Here are the other games in the top 10 that are not debuts: Mario Party 10 (WiiU) is at number four with sales of 258,437. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (PS3) is at number six with sales of 95,701. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (PS4) is at number seven with sales of 95,544. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4) is at number nine with sales of 69,542.
Software home console sales week-on-week are up across the board, except for the Wii. The PlayStation 4 sold 1.92 million games this week, an increase of 1.10 million units (-40%). The PlayStation 3 sold 967,155 games, an increase of 3,477 (0%). The Xbox One sold 851,160 games, an increase of 493,123 units (138%). Xbox 360 software sales are up by 49,320 units (9%) to 627,343 games sold. The Wii U sold 422,305 games, an increase of 199,845 (90%). The Wii sold 257,664 games, a decrease of 16,746 (-6%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week are down across the board. The 3DS sold 464,997 games, which is down 71,883 units (-13%). Vita game sales are down by 34,154 units (-13%) to 223,347 games sold. The DS sold 214,095 games, a decrease of 4,505 units (-2%) week-on-week. The PSP sold 66,860 games, a decrease of 62,711 (-48%). Total combined software is down 1.66 million units (-16%) week-on-week to 6.02 million.
Year-on-year software totals are up for the 3DS, PS4, and Xbox One. The PlayStation 3 is down 1,227,689 units (-56%), the Wii is down 79,888 units (-24%), the Xbox 360 is down 324,268 units (-34%), the Wii U is up 246,833 units (141%), the PS4 is up 389,832 units (25%), and the Xbox One is up 404,222 units (90%). The DS is down 35,362 units (-17%), the PSP is down 48,718 units (-21%), the 3DS is down 221,182 units (-32%), and the Vita is down 201,089 units (-47%). Total combined software is down by 1,105,710 units (-16%) sold year-on-year.
Home console software sales increased for the Wii U and PlayStation 3 for two weeks, and one week for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Sales have decreased for the Wii for two weeks.
The PlayStation 3 has 52 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has 34 percent market share; and the Wii has 14 percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has 60 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has 27 percent market share, and the Wii U has 13 percent market share.
Handheld software sales have decreased for one week for the PSP, DS, and Vita, and two weeks for the 3DS.
The DS has 76 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has 24 percent market share. The 3DS has 68 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has 32 percent market share.

Ah yet again the PC crowd showing how they don't buy junk. If only some of the console owners followed suit and we could all be done with these junk game series from being rehashed every few months.
