The Xbox 360 has the biggest bump in sales compared to the previous week, while the 3DS had the biggest drop. Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 sales are up year on year, while the DS and PSP are down 81 and 71 percent, respectively. Overall sales are flat week on week and down 17 percent year on year.
Overall two games debuted in the top 30 this week. Kinect Star Wars (X360) is this week’s biggest debut with sales of 421,293. There are no software milestones this week in the top 30.
Worldwide Hardware
Week on week sales are up for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and DS, and are down for the PSP, Vita, and 3DS. The 3DS is at the top this week with sales of 193,015 units, which is down 40,998 (-18%). The PlayStation 3 is up 1,128 (1%) to 170,125 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are up 48,535 (40%) to 169,648 units sold. The Wii sold 77,502 units, which is up 2,336 (3%). The PlayStation Vita is down 10,475 (-13%) to 72,994 units sold. The PSP sold 34,888 units, which is down 4,192 (-11%) compared to last week. The DS is up 1,959 (7%) to 29,574 units sold. Total week on week sales are down 1,707 (0%) to 747,746.
Year on year sales are up for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and down for the Wii, DS, 3DS, and PSP. The PlayStation 3 is up 1,128 (3%), the Wii is down 34,756 (-31%), and the Xbox 360 is up 35,307 (26%). The PSP is down 85,521 (-71%) the DS is down 129,202 (-81%) and the 3DS is down 20,065 (-9%). Year on year sales are down 156,595 (-17%).
After the sales gap between the three home consoles has remained similar for 10 weeks, the Xbox 360 got a huge increase in sales to put it right behind the PlayStation 3. Wii sales are half of the other two. The PlayStation 3 has a 41 percent market share; the Xbox 360 has a 41 percent market share; and the Wii has an 18 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the Xbox 360 is up, while the PlayStation 3 and Wii are down.
The 3DS has outsold its predecessor, the DS, by 6.5 to 1 and the Vita has outsold its predecessor, the PSP, by a little more than 2 to 1. The PSP has a 54 percent market share this week for the current generation handhelds and the DS has a 46 percent. The 3DS has a 73 percent market share for the next generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a 27 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the Vita is up, while the 3DS, DS and PSP are down.
Worldwide Software
Two games debuted in the top 30 this week. Kinect Star Wars (X360) debuted at the top with sales of 421,293. The game launched worldwide.
Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen Z Saisei-hen (PSP) debuted at number two with sales of 262,812. The game launched in Japan, with no plans to be released elsewhere.
Other games in the top 10 that are not debuts include Kinect Adventures (X360) at number three with sales of 179,859. Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) is at number four with sales of 168,852. Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS) is at number five with sales of 88,798.
Mass Effect 3 (X360) is at number six with sales of 76,348. Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3) is at number seven with sales of 67,280. Mario Kart 7 (3DS) is at number eight with sales of 64,280. FIFA Street (PS3) is at number eight with sales of 63,849. Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) is at number 10 with sales of 62,043.
Week on week software totals are up for the Wii, Xbox 360, DS, and PSP, and down for the PlayStation 3, 3DS and Vita. The Xbox 360 takes the top spot this week with sales of 2.48 million, an increase of 638,440 (35%). The PlayStation 3 sold 2.05 million games this week, a decrease of 47,171 (-2%). Wii software sales are down 268,738 (2%) to 1.51 million. The DS sold 780,852 games, an increase of 137,101 (21%). PSP game sales are up 200,069 (56%) to 560,040 games sold. The 3DS sold 537,788 games, which is down 207,030 (-28%). The Vita sold 113,801 games, a decrease of 22,521 (-17%). Total combined software is up 967,626 (14%) week on week to 8.03 million.
Year on year software totals are up for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP and 3DS, and are down for the Wii and DS. The PlayStation 3 is up 673,044 (49%), the Wii is down 185,204 (-11%) and the Xbox 360 is up 1.04 million (72%). The DS is down 565,101 (-42%), the PSP is up 25134 (5%) and the 3DS is up 265,225 (97%). Total combined software is up 1.36 million (20%) games sold year on year.
The Xbox 360 sold the most games this week, for the first time since the week ending March 10 and for the second time in the last ten weeks. The PlayStation 3 led for the other eight. The Xbox 360 has a 41 percent market share, the PlayStation 3 with 34 percent, and the Wii with 25 percent. Compared to ten weeks ago the Xbox 360 is up, while the PlayStation 3 and Wii are down.
The DS leads this week and for the fifth time in 10 weeks, while the 3DS lead for four of the other weeks and the Vita for one. The DS has a 58 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 42 percent market share. The 3DS has an 843percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has a 17 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago all four handhelds are up.

I wonder how much of Kinect Star Wars and the Xbox 360 bump can be attributed to the special bundle.
So your prediction of XenoBlade selling 175-200k week 1 was completely off. I bet your 50k week 2 estimate will be off too (I think it will be higher since it only was out for 2 days last week).
