America's Preorders Chart, 6 November 2010 - CoD: Black Ops - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 08 November 2010 / 9,332 ViewsOverview – Call of Duty: Black Ops is the only game in its final week before launch. It should have the biggest opening week this year; however it will probably have a slightly smaller opening than Call of Duty: Modern warfare 2. Five games in the top 30 added 10,000 new pre-orders this week. The top nine games have 100,000 or more pre-orders and the top 21 games have 50,000 or more.
Games in final week before release – Four versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops are in the top 30. They are for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC.
In its final week before release the X360 and PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops remains ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by 80,000. X360 pre-orders stand at 1,825,000, PS3 version is at 860,000, Wii version is at 71,000 and the PC version is at 61,000. Total pre-orders in America stand at 2.8 million and 4.5 million worldwide which are identical to Modern Warfare 2. Expect first week combined sales in the 6 million to 6.5 million range.
Other Hot Games – In order of release.
Disney Epic Mickey (Wii) pre-orders currently stand at 107,000. The game adds 6,000 pre-orders this week and is four weeks from launch.
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) pre-orders hit the 250,000 mark, one of only five games to have at least 250,000 pre-orders. The game is still tentatively to be released sometime this year.
Also in the top 10: World of WarCraft: Cataclysm for the PC adds 4,000 pre-orders a lot less than what it has been receiving the last couple of months. This brings the total to 441,000 with five weeks left until release.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood for the X360 and PS3 adds 32,000 combined pre-orders for a total of 460,000. The game is currently two weeks away from launch.
LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3) pre-orders stall this week only adding 700, for a total of 107,000. The game is currently eleven weeks away from launch.
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) adds 8,000 pre-orders for a total of 111,000. The game is currently three weeks away from launch.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for the PS3 and X360 add a combined 19,000 pre-orders for a total of 178,000
Notable mentions outside the top 10: Pre-orders have slowed considerably this week for games outside the top 10. Dragon Age II for the X360 adds 3,000 pre-orders for a total of 57,000. Dead Space 2 for the X360 and PS3 add a combined 3,000 pre-orders for a total of 104,000. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! (DS) adds 7,000 pre-orders this week for a total of 54,000. I am hoping for Epic Mickey to be close to the 300,000 or more range for the first week. Also interesting to see how it does in Europe, because it comes out on Nov 25th i think.
Zelda Skyward Sword at 21# without a release date. Also two Wii games at top 10.
Wii!!
@David
Yes looking like it's gonna be around that much. Unfortunately though, haters are still gonna bash it's decent sales unless it does FW sales of a million. Why can't these guys realize that Wii (even top tier ones) cost a lot less to develop for and doesn't need a million in sales to be profitable!
