Overall, hardware sale this week is flat. Week-on-week sales is up for the PlayStation 3, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Overall year-on-year sales are up by two percent. The Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One are up year-on-year.
One game debuted in the top 30 this week: Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD (PS3) debuted at number 16 with sales of 182,990 units. The Vita version debuted at number 21 with sales of 151,131.
Software milestones this week: Grand Theft Auto V (PS4) passed the five million mark; Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3DS) passed the seven million mark; Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (3DS) passed the five million mark; Grand Theft Auto V (XOne) passed the two million mark; and Assassin’s Creed: Unity (XOne) passed the two million mark.
Worldwide Hardware

Hardware home console sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Wii U. PlayStation 4 sales are up by 19,230 (3%) to 736,812 units sold. Xbox One sales are down by 10,957 (-2%) to 535,011 units sold. The Wii U sold 297,674 units, an increase of 2,118 (1%). PS3 sales are up by 7,401 (5%) to 145,548 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are down by 21,002 (-13%) to 138,459 units sold. The Wii sold 18,972 units, a decrease of 944 (-5%).
Handheld sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation Vita. The 3DS sold 724,174 units, which is a decrease of 20,483 (-3%). The PlayStation Vita sold 92,476 units, which is up 12,163 (15%) compared to last week. Week on week sales is down by 10,957 (0%) to 2.69 million units.
The Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 149,915 (-51%), the Wii is down 56,372 (-75%), the Xbox 360 is down 108,999 (-44%), the Wii U is up 65,452 (28%), the PlayStation 4 is up 286,000 (63%), and the Xbox One is up 237,166 (80%). The Vita is down 109,219 (-54%) and the 3DS is down 4,214 (-1%). Year on year sales is up by 57,173 units (2%).

Home console hardware sales have increased for the PlayStation 4, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Wii for three straight weeks. The Xbox One and Xbox 360 have decreased one week.
The PlayStation 3 has a 48 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 46 percent market share; and the Wii has a six percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 47 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 34 percent market share and the Wii U has a 19 percent market share.

Handheld hardware sales increased for the Vita for three straight weeks and decreased for one week for the 3D3. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has decreased this week to 632,000 units, from 664,000 units last week.
The 3DS has an 89 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has an 11 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks the 3DS and Vita are up.
Worldwide Software
One game debuted in the top 30 this week: Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD (PS3) debuted at number 16 with sales of 182,990 units. The Vita version debuted at number 21 with sales of 151,131.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3DS) is at number two with sales of 615,228. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4) is at number three with sales of 552,449. Assassin’s Creed: Unity (PS4) is at number four with sales of 418,188. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (WiiU) is at number five with sales of 392,596.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (XOne) is at number six with sales of 385,795. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (3DS) is at number seven with sales of 351,742. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (X360) is at number eight with sales of 351,095. FIFA 15 (PS4) is at number nine with sales of 350,157. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS3) is at number 10 with sales of 328,457.

Software home console sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 3 sold 6.84 million games, a decrease of 204,660 (-3%). The PlayStation 4 sold 5.87 million games this week, an increase of 193,313 units (3%). Xbox 360 software sales are sown 134,288 units (-2%) to 5.54 million games sold. The Xbox One sold 3.45 million games, a decrease of 72,032 units (-2%). The Wii sold 2.33 million games, a decrease of 334,410 (-13%). The Wii U sold 2.09 games, a decrease of 152,424 (-7%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week is up for the Vita. The 3DS sold 3.66 million games, which is down 660,313 units (-15%). The DS sold 1.35 million games, a decrease of 91,183 units (-6%) week-on-week. Vita game sales are up 73,688 units (8%) to 1.04 million games sold. The PSP sold 334,228 games, a decrease of 1,063 (0%). Total combined software is down 1.38 million units (-4%) week-on-week to 32.50 million.
Year-on-year software totals are up for the Xbox 360, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, 3DS, and Vita. The PlayStation 3 is down 119,640 units (-2%), the Wii is down 105,708 units (-4%), the Xbox 360 is up 118,025 units (2%), the Wii U is up 846,965 units (68%), the PS4 is up 4.72 million units (407%), and the Xbox One is up 2.52 million units (271%). The DS is down 134,049 units (-9%), the PSP is down 185,146 units (-36%), the 3DS is up 843,784 units (30%), and the Vita is up 326,102 units (46%). Total combined software is up by 10.91 million units (51%) games sold year-on-year.

Home console software sales have increased for the PlayStation 4 for two weeks, while the Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 are down for one week.
The PlayStation 3 has a 46 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 38 percent market share; and the Wii has a 16 percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 52 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 30 percent market share, and the Wii U has a 28 percent market share.

Handheld software sales have increased for Vita for two weeks. The 3DS, DS and PS has all decreased for one week.
The DS has an 80 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 20 percent market share. The 3DS has a 78 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has a 22 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago all four handhelds are up.
