FIFA 11 Lets Players Take Full Control of Keeper - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 17 August 2010 / 5,652 ViewsSure you've stood sure-footed on the goal line waiting to block a penalty kick for that flagrant slide tackle in the box that saved your team from going down 1-0 in the Champions League final in other iterations of the FIFA series, but FIFA 11 will now let players take on that role full time.
So with online play all 22 players on the pitch can now be under player control giving a completely new experience to the world of footie video games.
"Be a Goalkeeper" is the name of this new mode, and Petr ÄŒech has signed on to be the spokesperson for all upcoming ads about the new feature.
Here's the official description of the new mode: "Be A Goalkeeper features three levels of accessibility with varying degrees of AI assistance—assisted, semi-assisted and fully manual. Fans will be able to compete as the goalie in Career Mode and enjoy a 15-year career or create themselves as the goalie in Virtual Pro 2.0 to learn the position, track stats, complete achievements and test themselves against the best players in the virtual world."
I sense some true online blowouts coming if someone gets stuck playing keeper who doesn't want to.

only reason I play FIFA games is for the single player and local multiplayer (team v team)
I don't get it. I like to play as goalkeeper in real life football but I never got what's the excitement of playing an individual defensive player in FIFA online. Perhaps it is me but I think FIFA 11 vs 11 online is not that much of a big deal in terms of a feature.
