Many Famous Devs Making Free DLC for WarioWare D.I.Y. - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 22 March 2010 / 2,514 ViewsComing to North America on March 28th, WarioWare D.I.Y. will allow anybody to make and share a small frantic game in a matter of minutes. But Nintendo doesn't want to launch a game with an empty microgame database, so they've enlisted a group of game design all-stars to give it a head start with their new "Big Name Games" series. The day after the game is released in North America, Nintendo will release its first two Big Name Games, created by Masahiro Sakurai (Kirby, Super Smash Bros.) and Yoshio Sakamoto (Metroid).
Other designers included are:
- Pixel, aka Daisuke Amaya (Cave Story)
- 5TH Cell (Scribblenauts)
- WayForward (LIT, A Boy and His Blob)
- Gaijin Games (BIT.TRIP series)
- Team Meat (Super Meat Boy)
- and many others
It will be interesting to see if any of these developers parody their own games like many of the earlier WarioWare games have done, or if they just make crazy games about picking your nose, like many of the earlier WarioWare games have done. For now all we have is the Nintendo Channel's behind-the-scenes video of Sakurai and his microgame, Line Slash. Other games in the series will be featured on the Nintendo Channel in the coming weeks.
WarioWare D.I.Y. for the DS comes with 90 microgames and allows the creation, uploading, and downloading of microgames. WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase for WiiWare comes with a different set of 72 microgames and allows the downloading of everything the DS owners create. Both games will have access to the "Big Name Games," which will be released every Monday from March 29th through July 26th.

I am completely fine with admitting that I am a nerd and happy that I will be playing this game that these creative people also took part in making mini games in. Just like I shall be doing.
