Developer CD Projekt RED is currently finishing up development on its upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, which will release on April 16, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

In a private conversation on Twitter (posted on Reddit) the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account was asked if the game would be getting a release on the next generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Twitter account responded by saying "Possibly, however, current generation is our main focus atm."

Here is an overview of the game:

In the most dangerous megacity of the future, the real you is not enough. Become V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant — the key to immortality. Customize your cyberware and skillset, and explore a vast city of the future obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. The choices you make will determine the story and shape the world around you.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC on April 16, 2020. It will also release for Google Stadia.

If they have BC that would be redundant.

Yeah definitely a game I won't play on current gen consoles. Patiently waiting for a better version.

Here we are complaining about Xbox not utilising the Series X in its first years while games like RDR2, TLOU2, BOTW and now Cyberpunk 2077 are made on current gen machines. It will be awhile before next gen games start creating content on a bigger scale than these games.

Maybe that will hurt short term sales.

This isn't newsworthy. Of course Cyberpunk will eventually make its way to next gen consoles.

well, with full PS4 and Xbox One backwards.compatibility, every PS4/XBO game will make its way to next gen But yeah, big games like Cyberpunk will definitely get better versions on next gen as well.
