In celebration, Koei Tecmo will release a free Opoona costume on October 18.
The game was first released as Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate Core Fighters in September 2013.

I think I downloaded it on PS3 when it had a F2P option... didn't think much of and uninstalled but do I count in the numbers? It was like 4 years ago.
I like the idea of fighting games offering a F2P option, it objectively gets more people playing that game. But the DLC rape of this game is ridiculous.
Hopefully this shows sega that a virtua fighter 6 has a chance... but, without the crap-tons of DLC costumes.
I have never owned a game that has so much DLC before, it seems it would cost thousands to actually own the whole game and costumes. I love the game but really hate where they have gone with content.
