52,200 people from 109 countries attended E3 2015, the Entertainment Software Association has announced - a new record for the event.

There were also more than 1,600 products shown off by 300 exhibitors.

The President and CEO of ESA, Michael D. Gallagher, said the following:

"More than any other E3, this year was about the gamer. E3 demonstrated both the remarkable transformation of entertainment taking place on all video game platforms-virtual reality, augmented reality, hardware, mobile and handheld-and awesome games.

As a driving force for technological and entertainment trends across the globe, the video game industry clearly demonstrated how it is revolutionizing the way people consume, engage and interact with media.

Congratulations to our incredibly creative exhibitors, members, partners and the millions of video game consumers who celebrated a spectacular E3 event."

E3 2016 will be held at the same location, the Los Angeles Convention Center, from June 14th to the 16th.

I noticed the viewership was up on twitch as well. The industry seems to be getting bigger. Or at least more mainstream.

going more mainstream aint good, look at what has happened to some games, they are trying to have good graphics and poor gameplay just for the trailers

that's rather low. the Gamescom [Germany] last year had over 320.000 people attended. Dat is like 6 times more people than this year e3 depsite the fact Germany is a much smaller country than the USA. Still very impressive tho.

You might be forgetting that you have to be in the industry or invited to get into E3. Anyone can go and buy tickets for Gamescon
