Lionsgate are opening a game division, MCV have revealed. The division will be headed up by Peter Levin, who's worked with Nerdist, YouTube, and Rovio (the developers of Angry Birds).

Levin will be president of the game division, and so will be tasked with making sure the company's transition into the gaming industry will be smooth. Levin will be able to invest in new IPs or pick a film from Lionsgate's portfolio and adapt that into a video game. Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, said:

"Peter is a perfect fit for our entrepreneurial culture, and he is ideally qualified to lead the continued growth of our content business into the video game space and other interactive digital ventures. "

Gaming has become one of the most explosive growth areas of the content business, and Peter's mandate will be to build a portfolio of premium digital properties as we expand our leadership in films and television programming into digital content as well."

What Lionsgate film would you like to see turned into a video game?
