Assassin’s Creed: Unity has received another patch that removes the game's smartphone companion app lockout, according to MCVUK. Players will now be able to access all the content that once required the use of the smartphone app.

Several of the treasure chests in the game could not be oped up until players have beaten certain parts of the smartphone app. Players can still play the smartphone app, but it is no longer required to be part of the main game.
