State of Decay Hits New Sales Milestone - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 18 June 2013 / 5,830 ViewsUndead Labs zombie survival title, State of Decay, has hit a new sales milestone. The title first hit 250,000 units sold in its 48 hours and has now gone on to sell 500,000 units in its first two weeks on sale. This is the second fastest selling title ever on Xbox Live Arcade and is also the fastest selling original title ever on Xbox Live Arcade.
"We didn't know what to expect," said founder of Undead Labs Jeff Strain in an interview with Xbox Wire. "State of Decay breaks a lot of rules. Permadeath, switching characters, having to manage the "feelings" of your fellow survivors, offline progression — these are all things developers traditionally avoid, but we felt were essential to creating a true survival experience."
"We're thrilled and humbled that gamers are embracing the game. Record breaking sales are great, but the thing we're proudest of is that people who bought the game are having a great time playing it. That's why we do what we do, and what keeps us going back in to do it again."
The studio is currently working on a PC version of the title to be released on Steam. There is no release date, but the game just needs to be integrated with the Steam platform and controls for keyboard and mouse need to be added.

Congrats to Undead Lab and Microsoft for releasing the first sleeper hit of the year. Now here is to hoping Microsoft allows Undead Labs to make Class4 (State of Decay MMO). Would be a great fit for the X1. And give them a better budget MSFT lol That way we can have an overall better experience and a true follow up to this great game.
