Massive Entertainment, the developer behind the recently announced The Division, has hired the 24 employees working at the Swedish developer Southend Interactive. The news come from Swedish website Sydsvenskan.
The deal involves both Southend's teams, as well as some of its technology, which will be used in The Divsion.
"Malmo-based indie developer Southend Interactive was seeking a new home before the studio closed its door," read a statement from Massive Entertainment. "After a round of friendly discussions, Massive extended offers to all the members of the Southend team.
"Southend has a history of experience on multi-platform game production, and has developed some interesting proprietary technology for mobile/tablets. Their expertise is a perfect fit for the companion gaming aspect of Tom Clancy’s The Division, announced at the Ubisoft E3 press conference. All twenty-four members of the team will officially join Massive next week."
