Capcom Posts Record 6 Month Sales, Resident Evil 6 Ships 4.5M Units

Capcom has released its earnings for the first six months of its fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2012. Revenue for the six months increased 55.7 percent year-over-year to 45.5 billion yen ($570 million). Profits increased 355.1 percent to 4.1 billion yen ($51 million).
Resident Evil 6 was the main driver which shipped 3.7 million units at the end of September and 4.5 million units as of October 4. Dragon's Dogma passed one million in sales and Resident Evil: Outbreak Survive has reached two million registered users.
The Arcade Operations division was the one negative for the period. Revenue dropped by seven percent to 5.6 billion yen ($70 million). Capcom has closed two arcades which were not profitable. The company has 35 arcades worldwide.
Revenue for the six month period broke a company record since the mid-term report started in the fiscal year which ended on March 31, 2001.
