Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love Now (Silently) Available - News

Sakura Wars is a series developed by Overworks, the developers who brought you Skies of Arcadia and Valkyria Chronciles. This particular game is set in New York and features mecha battles in SRPG combat (that's more akin to Valkyria Chronicles than Fire Emblem or Disgaea, though) and special dating sim-esque events which play a crucial part in story events.
The Wii version of the game releases for $30 while the PS2 version releases for $40. Why? The PS2 version includes some bonus items such as an art book, poster, and a collector's item cover and also comes with special Japanese voiceovers. The Wii version has none of that, unfortunately.

It's definitely not identical as Idea Factory ported it to the Wii.
Expect to see some (most likely small) differences.
so it is identical :/ i'll get PS2 at a 30% discount then ($ is still cheap)
thanks!
I'm leaning more towards the PS2 version right now. Is there any way in which the Wii version is superior? Superior graphics? Anything?
"err why is the PS2 version better?"
That's because the PS2 was the RPG king of last gen while catering to hardcore gamers. And because it was so true, that effect still has a lot of influence this gen.
PS3 really needs to add PS2 games to the PSN Store. There's so many PS2 titles that I want to go back and play.
"the developers who brought you Skies of Arcadia"
No more need be said. I want this game now.

I have both pre-ordered from Rosenqueen. Comes with bonus artbooks. I've always wanted to play a Sakura Wars game, eversince the Saturn games were out.

Stealth release is stealthy.
Pity it's not region free.
Will have to pick this up, loved Skies of Arcadia and Valkyria Chronicles :)
