Battlefield 6 to Use Bots to Fill Servers That are Not Full - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 06 August 2025 / 3,977 ViewsDeveloper DICE during the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal event in Hong Kong was asked about the use of bots in the game.
"The way the game uses AI [bots] is that when the server is not full, AI [bots] will be added to fill it," said development director Anna Narrevik (via Taiwanese outlet Bahamut GNN).
Narrevik added, "We designed the game to be played with as many players as possible at the same time."

She also revealed Battlefield 6 will be using the Javelin anti-cheat system and the developer is planning regular quarterly updates for the game. They are also considering bringing back classic maps.
"We won't be playing it in today's event, but in the future Battlefield 6 we'll have a map called Firestorm, which is our classic map. We will introduce classic versions or maps based on the request of fans or players, and of course we have so many options and want to pick the best possible ones that will remind everyone of the good times playing Battlefield."
Battlefield 6 will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 10.

When AI makes the games for us, AI can also play the games for us, that's only consequent.
This isn’t that new. I remember it being in Gears 2 on the X360, and was also in Titanfall.
The difficulty is making the bots actually challenging instead of fodder.
Yes Respawn loves bots in their games so this isn't surprising but still annoying. BF has been played without bots since it came out I have no idea what Respawns obsession is with bots. It adds nothing to the series and will just annoy people. It's not like BF fans are out there excited to have bots in their games. I have no idea why they continue to do this.
Yet they'll ignore everyone asking for a server browser so they can just join full games or wait for a full game to have a spot open up.
Thats fine. Battlefield has high lobby sizes and i'd rather play a match with some bots than so few players that the giant maps feel empty
Good jsut make it clear and obvious when a player is a bot. We don't need paranoia in communities on whether or not their opponents are human which is a running trend in recent games which try to obfuscate their bots for some reason.
