The next-generation video game consoles, the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, after much anticipation released last month.

Several publishers and developers offered free upgrades from the 8th to 9th generation for cross-generation releases. However, it appears several PS5 owners are not getting their free upgrade they should be getting from Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is aware of the issues some PS5 users are experiencing in getting their free upgrades and is looking to get it fixed as soon as possible. The problem appears to be mainly in the UK, according to the official Ubisoft Support Twitter account, however, users from other countries are experiencing the same issue.

"We are aware players in the UK are experiencing issues upgrading physical versions of some Ubisoft games from PS4 to PS5," reads the Ubisoft Support Twitter account.

"We're working to resolve this, and can confirm anyone experiencing this issue will still be eligible for their free upgrade. Stay tuned for more information."

Ubisoft has assured PS5 owners will get their free next-generation upgrade for their PS4 games once the issue is resolved.

Xbox Series X|S owners have yet to report any issues in getting their free upgrades for Ubisoft games.

Some key Ubisoft titles with free next-generation upgrades include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Rainbow Six Siege.

Weird that it's strictly isolated to the UK. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
