VGAs Step Aside for The Game Awards 2014 - News

Yesterday The Game Awards 2014 was announced - a video game awards ceremony backed by an advisory board that includes some of the industry's biggest names, such as Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot, Konami's Hideo Kojima, Sony's Shawn Layden, Microsoft's Phil Spencer, and EA’s Peter Moore.

Although it will be hosted and produced by SpikeTV's Geoff Keighley it is not directly related to the oft-criticised VGAs that Keighley is well-known for being involved with. SpikeTV have actually decided to forego a VGA ceremony this year.

The Game Awards 2014 will feature numerous awards and world premieres and it will be broadcast worldwide over the internet. It will take place in Las Vegas on 5th December, at 6pm PST/9pm EST.

Valve have also announced that a special Steam sale will take place alongside the event.
