Supergiant Games founder Amir Rao spoke at DICE and announced that Bastion has sold 1.7 million units worldwide across all platforms. The game is available for the Xbox Live Arcade, PC, Mac, and the iOS. 90 percent of the sales came after the first month it was available on the Xbox Live Arcade.

The conference Rao spoke in he talked about porting the game from the Xbox Live Arcade to the PC and iOS. Rao believes Staggering the release of the game helped keep the quality, especially since the studio only has eight employees.

"We didn't lose an opportunity by not [simultaneously] shipping," said Rao.

"When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark,"  said Supergiant Game's Greg Kasavin when the game passed 500,000 units sold at the end of 2011. "It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we’re doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."

I'm happy to hear the success of such a wonderful game. I hope they port this over to PSN and eShop so more people can enjoy the game.

Don't forget guys that Bastion was a part of probably the best Humble Indie Bundle thus far, so I would guess that big chunk of those sale numbers is from that.
