Markus 'Notch' Persson has tweeted that Minecraft has sold 453,000 units across all platforms on December 25. The game is available for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, Android and iPhone.

"Across all platforms, Minecraft sold 453k copies on dec 24! Wowzers!" said Persson. He later corrected that he meant to say December 25 and not December 24.

Persson announced the Pocket Edition of the game passed five million sold earlier this month. The PC version has sold 8.63 million units according the games official website. The Xbox Live Arcade version of the game passed four million units sold at the end of September and averages 50,000 units sold each week.
