Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Sells 4 Million Units - News

Developer 4J studios broke the news on Twitter. "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has passed 4 million sales! Incredible number, thanks to you all!," read the Tweet.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has broken many Xbox Live Arcade's sales records. The game sold more units in its first 24 hours than any other game on for the Xbox Live Arcade and it sold one million units in just five days. By the time sold two million units it had already become the bestselling Xbox Live Arcade game of all time.
The original game has gone on to sell 7.58 million units according to the official website.

I have to give it to them - Minecraft on the 360 is TONNES of fun with 3 friends. The game just lends itself well to doing things co-operatively, or separately while you're all in the same room together.

that's great news I know there was tons of hype leading up to this games debut on the 360 and it really is cool to see a game living up to and exceeding the hype it caused, need a bit more of this in todays gaming and we'll be on the road to recovery from shovelwaremania

"related stories" has a story about a minecraft themed xbox coming which links to a story from march about the xbox version of minecraft getting a release date and has absolutely nothing to do with any special edition of an xbox, I guess it's not this articles fault but wow that is just false naming an article to get site hits, shouldn't be on there to lure people in really.
It has nearly 4.8m unique players on the 'peaceful' leader boards. Could have possibly passed 5m if they didnt count the refunds they made because of the SD-HD split screen fiasco.
you have to remember that more people than just the one who owns it can use the software on the xbox to place on the leaderboards with most games.
Multiple accounts and freebie offers result in inflation of the leaderboard numbers..
