Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII Debuts at the Top of the UK Charts Despite Huge Drop in Physical Sales

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII Debuts at the Top of the UK Charts Despite Huge Drop in Physical Sales - News

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII debuted at the top of the UK charts, according to GfK/Ukie for the week ending October 13. Physical sales for the game were nearly 50 percent lower than Call of Duty: WWII. This is low enough to make it the worst launch at retail for a game in the franchise since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

While physical sales are way down compared to last year, the game did set a new record for Activision with the highest day one digital sales.

Here are the top 10 best-selling titles (combined sales) for the week:

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII
  2. FIFA 19
  3. Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  4. WWE 2K19
  5. Forza Horizon 4
  6. Marvel's Spider-Man
  7. Super Mario Party
  8. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  9. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  10. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Why buy a physical copy of a pure online game?

Exactly. All the people I know personally, who got this game, have it digital.

Resell/trade-in when you're done with it. Perhaps you're the type to drop last years game if you enjoy this years game.

Right, especially if it isn't truly physical.

Wonder how overall sales will be relative to past CoDs. Campaign players are out, BR players in. Not sure how specialist but no jetpack multiplayer will pan out with the PVP crowd (especially with the focus on Overwatch style game modes and not lone wolf TDM).
