Excite Truck 2 is coming w/ online - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 25 April 2007 / 1,541 ViewsRedmond (WA) - The first sequel to a Wii game will come as a new version of the launch title Excite Truck.  The second installment to the new racing series is one of the first to announce support for online multiplayer.

Up to six people will be able to compete online in real-time.  This puts Excite Truck 2 in the small category of upcoming Wii online titles, currently comprised of Pokemon Battle Revolution, due out this June, and the pending Super Smash Bros Brawl.

No release date has been confirmed for Excite Truck 2, however Nintendo has said that it won't be until next year before the Wii's online multiplayer platform really takes off.

I did not, nor have the intention, of making fun of any Nintendo products.
But it is pretty unfortunate, that in this current generation of video-games, a system has yet to receive games with online play, especially when they have the potential Wii games could have online.

Plus, "from their home company" is quite the misleading statement. Especially since it's common-sense that strong third-party support is the most important thing a company can attain when it comes to software.

Once again, I digress.

You know you're a deprived Fanboy when when you have to make fun of other games because there's none from their home company.

I digress.

isn't that the truth?

i may have just registered here, but i've been lurking for the past five months or so, and i always get a laugh out of kwaad's uneducated ninty hate. =)

Sorry to spoil the party but it's fake. I wrote a message to Monster Games Inc and got a message back from the producer. He told me that the press announcement was completely fake but that they're working on a complete new game, but it's a secret....

Kwaad needs psychological help for his anti Nintendo problem :P

sounds fishy. maybe wait for a little more news before believing it?

regardless, kwaad, i know you're anti-Ninty and all, but, eh, come on. at least Nintendo fanboys take the time to check up on their facts before bashing.

Excite Truck races comprised of six racers simultaneously. Thus, the sequel having six racers, as well, is only logical. And, even so, it's an offroad truck racing game. Any MORE than six is ridiculous.

I saw a post about this that said it was fake.
I was going to email the developers but there website isn't exactly cutting edge or erm...good!

Four player would have been good enough for me. Six player is a bonus IMO. Excite Truck was lacking when it came to single player but multiplayer was a blast and that was in an offline mano a mano format.

So its real? I saw a press release for this, and concluded that it was fake (should have picked it up - the language used was unconventional and terrible...).

A couple of screenshots as well - see the related thread.
