by William D'Angelo , posted on 04 November 2014 / 4,266 ViewsThe consumer vesrion of the Oculus Rift VR headset is months away and not years. Oculus VR CEO Brendan Iribe made the announcement at the Web Summit 2014 in Dublin and reported by The Next Web.
"We're all hungry for it to happen," Iribe said. "We're getting very close. It's months, not years away, but many months."
Irebe is eager for the Oculus Rift to launch and doesn't want it to take four or five years. However, he does want to get the launch right. He is also worried about other companies releasing rival products that aren't ready.
"“We’re a little worried about bigger companies putting out products that aren’t ready," said Irebe. "Disorientation and motion sickness is the elephant in the room. We’re encouraging big companies not to put out a product before it’s ready."

No way...VR is the next big thing.
VR is going to start slow, but it will become a standard for later generations. The problem is that many people reject change afraid that the way they do gaming is going away forever, but that is a misunderstanding, VR is thought to add a lot more to that basic experience.
