Yokai Watch 2 Sales Top 2 Million in Japan - News

Yokai Watch 2 remains at the top of the Famitsu charts for another week despite the release of five new titles in the top 10. The game managed to sell 127,456 units last week and how now sold more than two million units in Japan.

The game sold 1.28 million units in its opening in Japan with one of the biggest opening for the 3DS in Japan. It quickly outsold lifetime sales of its predecessor in its first week on sale.

The game boosted 3DS sales in its opening week to 56,973 units. The handhelds remains at the top of the hardware charts selling another 35,191 units. This is nearly double the second bestselling hardware, the PlayStation Vita, which sold 18,637 units.

I'm glad Level 5 finally has a cash cow! They have made a lot of wonderful titles over the years and deserve this.
