Overview
There is one game in the top 30 to be in its final week: South Park: The Stick of Truth for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Six games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, up from five last week, and the top 14 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from 15 last week. Two games added 20,000 or more pre-orders, up from one last week and seven added 10,000 or more, up from two last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
South Park: The Stick of Truth (X360) added 10,392 pre-orders for a grand total of 145,408. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 175,000 to 250,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 600,000 and 800,000 units lifetime in the US.
South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3) added 9,968 pre-orders for a grand total of 137,554. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 150,000 to 225,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.
Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending March 1
Thief (PS4) sales are expected to drop to around 35,000 units in its second week on sale. The Xbox One version is expected to drop to around 30,000 units.
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (PS3) sales are expected to drop to around 25,000 units in its second week on sale.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (XOne) sales are expected to drop to around 20,000 units in its second week on sale. The Xbox 360 version is expected to drop to around 20,000.
Overall hardware and software sales are expected to remain relatively flat.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
Titanfall (XOne) added 58,911 pre-orders, up from 46,510 last week, for a total of 378,466. The Xbox 360 version added 7,615 pre-orders, up from 7,359 last week, for a total of 79,782. The PC version added 2,682 pre-orders, down from 3,759 last week, for a total of 74,666. The game is two weeks away from launch in the USA, March 11, 2014.
inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4) added 30,421 pre-orders, up from 8,488 last week, for a total of 250,911. The game is three weeks away from launch in the USA, March 21, 2014.
Notable mentions: Dark Souls II (PS3) added 12,066 pre-orders for a total of 200,144. Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster (PS3) added 10,252 pre-orders for a total of 190,134. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4) added 16,385 pre-orders for a total of 54,334.
Requests: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4) added 1,475 pre-orders for a total of 35,305. Wolfenstein: The New Order (XOne) added 1,614 pre-orders for a total of 26,172. Tom Clancy’s The Division (PS4) added 518 pre-orders for a total of 30,267. Tom Clancy’s The Division (XOne) added 201 pre-orders for a total of 19,900.
