GameStop: Wii U Software Pre-orders Double That of the Wii - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 15 November 2012 / 10,592 ViewsGameStop has announced some positive signs for Nintendo's upcoming console, the Wii U, which launches on November 18 in North America. The Wii U has a much stronger launch lineup than the Wii did when it launched.
The biggest launch title the Wii had was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess which was also available on the GameCube. The Wii U has several third party launch titles which the Wii was lacking and it has Nintendo's biggest game at launch, New Super Mario Bros. U.
Wii U software sales pre-orders are double what the Wii had at launch at GameStop. There are 1.2 million Wii U games pre-ordered and all 500,000 consoles the company will have at launch were already reserved in September.
At least at GameStop the Wii U will have a tie ratio of 2.4 games sold for every console sold at launch. This is double what the Wii had at its launch.

I'm from Chile, and I preorder Assasins Creed 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, Batman Arkham City and Mass Effect 3. Can't wait to play these games!!!
Excellent
Sounds good to me. It will be interesting to see if all 500 preordered new super mario brothers and if the other software was spread across the 1.2million.
Already sold out? Wow. I wonder if the Wii U will be able to keep the unmount up to the end of its generation.
makes sense, the launch line up has games that are actually worth a damn, IMHO. At least more than Wii did.
'The biggest launch title the Wii had was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess which was also available on the GameCube'
This is not true. TP came out on Wii first (which is also where it sold best), the 'Cube version followed a while later. When it released for Wii, it was brand new and wouldn't be available on GCN for a bit.
that's right i was playing Gamecube zelda prior to the wii release, and in my opinion the game was better on gamecube as it was designed for it and didnt have the motion controls tacked on like the wii did.
