Xbox LIVE Netflix Adds Kinect Support - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 14 April 2011 / 1,995 ViewsMicrosoft has just launched Kinect functionality for the Xbox LIVE Netflix app. This is a feature many have been waiting around for since the Kinect was announced at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Netflix was even shown being used in early Kinect demonstrations.
However, there are some limitations. In order to use solely Kinect controls, you can only use the recommended titles section of your library via the Kinect Hub. To utilize your entire Netflix library you have to start a film or television show with a controller, but can then control it with the Kinect.
It would be nice to be able to navigate the entire Netflix library with solely Kinect, but maybe that will come down the road. For now you can look forward to not having to get popcorn grease on your controller in order pause a movie and replenish your food supply.

you can only choose from the 15 or so movies that are recommended to you by netflix with this, its pretty much a way to pause your movie
It works well enough, I guess. I could imagine navigating hundreds/thousands of movies by waving my hand could get tiring and entering text would be a chore. I guess using the controller to select a movie and just using my voice or waving my hand to do everything else (FF,RW,Pause, etc.) ain't too bad.
I'm hoping for DVD support (for watching porn) and better Netflix support in the future, though.
I really don't understand the limitations...
Wait, does that mean you can navigate your instant queue or not?
