The world record high score for Donkey Kong has been shattered again. Steve Wiebe recaptured the title from his rival Billy Mitchell. That's the third time this year that the Donkey Kong highest score has changed hands.
First Hank Chien came out of nowhere with a score of 1,061,700 this past March, raising the world record by 11,500 points. Then Mitchell topped Chien with a score of 1,062,800 in July, raising the score by 1,100 more points. This month, Steve Wiebe added another 1,700 to the total when he beat Mitchell's score by hitting 1,064,500. Will Chien or Mitchell reclaim the throne? We will have to wait to know the answer.
