Multiplatform Versus XIII Being Considered by S-E (UPDATED) - News
by Arthur Kabrick , posted on 18 May 2010 / 8,279 ViewsFinal Fantasy XIII, developed by Square Enix, was originally set to be one of the main PS3 exclusives of the generation. However, in a shock announcement at E3 2008, it was revealed during the Microsoft conference that the game would be a same-day multiplatform release on PS3 and Xbox 360 (in the West; it remained a PS3 exclusive in Japan and Asia).
Once the internet recovered from its implosion and (briefly) stopped cursing Square Enix, speculation turned towards the second console game in the "Crystal Mythology": Final Fantasy Versus XIII. This was, and officially still is, set to release exclusively for the PS3 at some point in the distant future. However, Square Enix repeatedly confirmed that the game would be a PS3 exclusive (admittedly, this guarantee wasn't worth much, since it was what they said about the original Final Fantasy XIII)
But things may be changing a little. Yoichi Wada, CEO of Square-Enix, is on record as recently saying the following, with regards to an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy Versus XIII:
We'll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement
The "formal announcement", probably containing the first real gameplay videos and perhaps a vague release date, is likely to take place at E3, maybe at the Microsoft conference and maybe at the Square Enix conference, though the developers may not be quite ready to show the game by mid-June and could do so at the Tokyo Game Show or a similar event.
Though this wouldn't be quite as shocking as the original "megaton", it would be evidence for the notable shift away from third-party exclusives in recent times.
Final Fantasy XIII has, to date, sold (in the West, where the game is available on both platforms): 2.09 million copies on PS3, and 1.29 million on Xbox 360- almost certainly enough to justify the port.
UPDATE: Yoichi Wada published this clarification via his Twitter account:
It looks like the 'net is heating up. Versus on Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalized.
This appears to be less decisive than the previous statement, so for now, Final Fantasy Versus XIII looks set to remain a PS3 exclusive.

as u can probably tell what i think is a fail is lack of ingenuity not how much it sells some of those games i considered fails are games i feel were "games made for the widest audience possible" which is bs, they were games made to make the most amount of money possible (but didn't end up selling that well) and it showed. None of them does anything new or fresh at all (maybe ff13) or enhance's gamers experience than previous installment's

Looks awesome
Wouldn't it make more sense to port it to Wii instead of XB360?
@askel50
Of course, the multi-plat of FF13 didn't help. I already pointed out how FF10, on a system that at the time had only ~21 mil users, sold ~7 mil. FF13 will probably make ~ 6 mil or so, on a combined install base of ~75 mil. How did the multi-plat help it?
FF has been a huge series on Playstation consoles. With all the hype, it being the first FF of this gen, the possibilities of the amount of content on a new format, FF13 should have at least sold between FF 10 & 7. And again, I know 5.5 mil is good for a game, but it definitely could have been bigger.
So it's either go multiplat, which means less quality but possibly more money or stay exclusive, which means more quality but possibly less money. Noruma said himself that focusing on one platform produces better results in quality, (and this has been proven from exclusive titles we've seen this generation with games across all platforms). Personally, I would rather have a quality title. But what people don't seem to understand is it's not PS3 fans getting mad at losing another game to 360, it's fear of possibly losing quality/content due to going multiplat. It's funny though how people don't see how FFXIII going multiplat basically proves the differences between the PS3 and 360.
This is just a small example of what the game was before FFXIII was announced for 360 and was still exclusive for PS3:
(Top: PS3 exlcusive build, Bottom: Multiplat build)

Overall though, what us fans, gamers or w/e you wanna call it say won't change what the heads of SE will do, so in a way it's pointless to even worry about.
Off topic real quick though, did you guys know Fang was original going to be a male character? Just something I remember reading a while back.
hmm...might add a jrpg to my 360 list ;)
Wada has already sold his soul.... move on ppl
haha, I said they were gonna announce it this E3...looks like I was right!
@xbox man FF8 sold 8 mil i dont think FF 13 will do that not even on PS3 and x360, FF13 was good, just not as good as FF7-FFX, and word spreads quickly about these kinds of things which is why the end up selling less over time, I don't care if FFvs is multiplat as long as the game is good quality and more story this time please SE:):)
That was the most unconvincing half-denial I've ever heard. I can't really see Versus not being on the 360 now, judging by past announcements of this gen.
hahaha i dont care i bought FF13 for PS3 and i'll be buying VS on the system too. so i pretty much dont give a crap what SE does, but we'll know for sure that VS won't take full advantage of the PS3 like most exclusives.
and besides why the hell would i want to play this game with multi-discs when i can play it with just one. i bought Star Ocean for PS3 because of one disc and extras.
so SE you can go ahead and make VS mult-plat as i'll still buy it for PS3
@thismeintiel
For peter's sake, the only games that sold more than 5.5mil on PS3 alone are Modern Warfare 2 and GTAIV (as a side note both multiplat), how can you be so blind to keep saying crazy stuff like "360 port didn't help FF 13 sales"? Do you really think an exlusive PS3 JRPG could sell on par with the likes cod or gta in this gen? Beside the wole "exclusive sells better" thing is bogus, stupid fanboys that actually boycott a game because is not an exclusive are by far minority and FF 13 got plenty of hype multiplat or not.
I'm glad to hear they might stay with the PS3 the 360 has stolen way to many games from the PS3 and with Versus on PS3 only it will boost there hardware sells.
on Xbox360iment
FFXIII sold 1.3m WW so far.. making this multiplat will lose enough hype to make the PS3 version sell over 2mil less..
so it is a bad move
@ The Xbox Man
I never said 360 was the reason it was linear. However, there is plenty of evidence to suggest it may have been the reason that certain areas had to be cut out. The real point is the linearity was to appeal to a much larger audience, with SE saying the expected it to sell as well as 7. They missed there mark by over 4 mil. And, it's not exactly tearing up the charts, lately.
Also, you really can't just focus on FF9 to prove your point. Especially considering it was released months after the launch of the PS2, a time when most where starting to move on to the next gen. You need to look at the other games in the series surrounding it. FF8 sold ~ 8 mil copies. FF10 sold ~ 7 mil. FF12 sold ~5.2 mil. With FF12, it's almost the same story as 9, it was released the same year the PS3 was launched. So, so far there has been an improvement in sales from 12(of course the PS4 isn't launching this year, is it?), but it still won't sell like its other predecessors.
Also, keep in mind that FF10 was launched just a year after the PS2 was. According to this site there were ~ 21 mil PS2's sold by the time it released in America. So for FF13 to sell only 5.5 mil so far on a combined install base that now has reached ~75 mil doesn't seem so spectacular. If anything, it supports the notion that sales were just divided among the consoles.
Now, this is in no way to say FF13's sales were complete garbage, cause they definitely aren't. However, I still think it shows how little it benefited from being multi-plat.
Good news for any 360 owner.
It wont change that i ll get it on PS3, but if it s a good game, i hope many people enjoy it
Some might say that vsXIII exclusivity was formally announced, at the time the title itself was announced as being exclusively on PS3. That clarification is still allowing wriggle room for SE to announce multi-plat and claim that exclusivity was never formally announced.
Sly, sneaky and tricksy.
But to not have it go multiplat would be slightly mad, unless they were contractually bound to PS3 exclusivity. So the question is are S-E sly, sneaky and tricksy, or are they slightly mad, or are they contractually tied up?
@thismeintiel
FF13 has sold more than FF9 & will sell more than FF12 shortly, how is continuing the decline in sales?
In europe FF13 is a bit away from beating FF8 & becoming the 3rd best selling FF there well on its way to beat FF10 in the region (proof of this was posted in the Europe sales thread)....how is that a continuation of declining sales? Same story in the west.
With FF13 they have made the franchise powerful in the West again.
Linear linear linear, shut up already, xbox 360 isn't responsible for that the development team did when they envisioned the game.
Still its an awesome game & hopefully Versus will go multiplat to let Xbox owners enjoy that game.
For all you guys saying they should do this because "how well FF13 did on the 360", what?! The FF series has been declining in sales ever since 7. And FF13 kept this trend going. It's been pretty much validated that the multi-plating of FF13 did nothing for sales, except split the sales it would have gotten anyway among the 2 consoles. In it's current form, it would have sold the exact same if it had remained a PS3 exclusive.
The sad thing being that if FF13 was an open world experience, like previous FF's, I bet it could have been a 10 mil or more seller like FF7. It's release would have been under the same circumstances of that of FF7. The first FF on the next gen of systems. Using a new format of media storage. The crazy hype building up to its release. Unfortunately, the game couldn't back up that hype, unlike 7, and instead was butchered into a linear mess to try an increase its audience. Well, that backfired. It reached a smaller audience.
Also, the update seems to imply it won't be on 360. Either way, I just hope Nomura is allowed to keep his vision of an open world experience. He seems to be the only sane one left at SE these days. I hope they get to use the original form of the Crystal Tools Engine, before it was retooled to work on the 360.
@ Mr. sickVisionz and DEADLY SINNERS
u both have misunderstood what i was saying mr sick slighlty and deadly has woefully misunderstood . Firstly deadly there are games made on ps3 just based based on storage issues alone i won't get into an argument about graphics i have no problems with multi plat games but some developers have lost it for me res 5 (re4 with good graphics) and tekken 6 brought nothing new of interest but went multi plat in my opinion just to rake in the dough now i have oblivion and boyentta has proven popular these are two egsample's of multi plats gone right. i accept u're point mr sick clearly u see i'm trying to have a disccusion here on wider issues with "some" devs my issue is that some of them (capcom) have sed one thing and totally done another ff13 should be played by as many people as possible but what really irks me is when they could clear alot of issues by making a small statement (it just feels dogdy and underhanded) because they know the more fuss peeps make online the more pr they get for their games.
That's too long to be a valid tweet.
i don't want the delay in release though..360 shud get whatever it's capable while the PS3 version development phase is on and release simultaneously.
@MeTc123_VGEditioN : Say that when Mass effect comes to PS3.
am a PS3 fanboy , i don't mind FFXIII Versus going multi platform , but i hope that the PS3 version doesn't get delayed for a simultaenous release on both platforms
@edrigo
So what your saying is because a game is multi platform it's inferior?
Well if you believe that then i feel sorry for you and you fanboy brain.
I don't know why people get pissed when other gamers get too enjoy it.
I never knew fanboys were so common these days. The stuff I have read have made me almost die laughing.
this one guy made a comment about Metal gear rising saying It will suck because it's gonna be on xbox360 also. wtf lol sigh enjoy the game people
Good news for any 360 owner.
It wont change that i ll get it on PS3, but if it s a good game, i hope many people enjoy it
Sony Fans, Final Fantasy isn't your IP, it belongs to Square Enix
Square used to develop for Nintendo before the ps1
FF XIII looks incredible on my XBOX360 and I'm sure Verses will too
:)
It'll still be the 2nd best RPG of the gen
I figured this was going to happen if FF13 did well is the US on the 360.
Well I'm one of those 360 owners so I don't mind,
I'm guessing if they go along with it, it will still be exclusive in japan.
@Mr. sickVisionZ I wouldnt justify 1/3 of consumers who bought a game successful, if only 1/3 of those who bough XIII on the 360 buy versus then thats only like .45 million sales
Wouldn't it be funny if Versus XIII was more of a traditional Final Fantasy game than the linear XIII
@edrigo If making games for people to play = greed then I guess you have a point. I think you're definition is bullocks though. Over 1/3 of the FFXIII audience enjoyed it on the 360. It's not greedy to make a game that a large chunk of your audience want to play imo.
idots hey! so when hideo kojima sed he wanted to make mgs4 on ps3 because it wouldn't be possible on any other console stating he wouldn't be able do get wat he wanted onto the disk is that idiocy? I aint gonna argue about that but what peeves me off is if square produce an inferior game just to make money from as many people as possible. i would also like to add that most game developers are prostitutes they will do anything for $ but thats no excuse . Some developers like kojima have made games 4 one console to get the best out of their game it's not about money for him it's about making the best game.
i think square are losing the plot and i think people flaming on here are basically arguing if this is good business or greed (i say greed)
don't really care.
i have both consoles and if it go miultiplatforms, more people will get to play it.
just hope its better than FF13 and also hope it stay as action rpg, i don't like turn base rpg.
but hm, if it go to 360 as well, i think we will loose some quality on FFV13 too.
and i know, the PS3 version will sell better no matter what just like FF13 because PS3 fans are more open to more genre. 360 fans are more into FPS gun games more.
anyway, like i said, don't really care, more people will get to play it.
if its action as they said, i am on it, if its turn base, no thanks.
turn base rpg are so last gen.
Well, Sony fans would've cared about this 2 years ago. but now the console has enough great exclusive.... do we really need this one to stay exclusive?
Only sad thing is knowing the game will be delayed due to xbox port, dispite it being an inferior port AGAIN
You guys should update this news article:
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/05/19/wada_clarifies_versus_xiii_statement/
Tweeted Wada early Wednesday (around 6:00AM): "It looks like the 'net is heating up. Versus on Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalized."
JPH85 says:
Only idiots think FF13 was stripped down because of the 360.
I assure you I'm not an idiot.
FF 13 was finished on the PS3 before they ported it to the 360
That just means they considered it multiplatform from the start. Only idiots wouldn't do so when starting a project of that scale.
Besides, FF13 was initially developed for the PS2. So you can't really tell how many times they had to change their mind and what limitations arose from that.
And also there are tons of finished content (like half of a game) that didn't make its way into the FF13. It was in the news.
benmanu says:
if this come true, it's great news, whatever unreliable hd console you may own, you'll know that if you change from one to the other, you'll still be able to play the game, starting all over again but still...
Yes but it will be a crippled, striped of extra content, graphically challenged, a JRPG designed to appeal to the mass Western auditory, linear in order to fit on multiple DVDs game.
Great, another half-assed game from Enix.
DONT YOU DARE SQUARE ENIX!! DONT YOU DARE!!!!!!!!
To all those saying"oh noes it cant become multiplat, SE said it would be exclusive"! Think about it, they are a business. They want as much profit as they can get get, therefore multiplat is the way to tap into another 40 million users...
if this come true, it's great news, whatever unreliable hd console you may own, you'll know that if you change from one to the other, you'll still be able to play the game, starting all over again but still...
if this ever too come true people will start to lose faith on SE since they dont keep their word.
bottom line FF13 was the testing ground wada wanted to see how well it sold once its multiplat and his assumption paid off and because of the sucess of sale for ff13 he will now try n push FFvs13 to make it multi plat.
Nomura san wont be too happy bout this
People still saying it can't be done on 360...
- never seen gameplay footage? CHECK
- FF XIII runs on Xbox 360? CHECK
-
Developer considering a port? CHECK
Somehow the anticipation for this title decreased very sharply.
I never liked FF, so from a gamers point of view I am not that excited. I am glad that the 360 library might become more and more diverse.
LOL I thought by now after what Wada did with FF13 ppl learned not to trust S-E when it comes to Exclusive talk.
Fly poo>Garbage> S-E exclusive promises.
^^Get this to your heads and you wont be disappointed.
What he really means is "We are still currently waiting to see how big Microsoft's cheque will be"
Told yah so. Haters gonna hate...
LOL this was sooo predictable. Once i knew ff13 went multiplat, versus would see the same fate.
Whoever didn't see this coming is a damn tool...
Grain of salt ≥ SE Exclusivity.
At least though they're courageous enough to troll the Sony fantools face-to-face. Good job d-bags.
Okay scratch off another reason why I should get a ps3. Now all that's left is for MGS4 and God of War. I highly doubt GoW though for some reason.
it seems to to be the same one as shown at E3 2006.
Lol @ Ryusuken
Seriously, I'm sure a developer team will quit a job and benefits just to satisfied the childish needs of stupid fanboys. Lol!
Who would say no to a bag of money through the back door, not Wada of course, he is not a developer, he is a busineman$$.
However, he might provoke Tetsuya Nomura caused he is a die hard Sony fan.
Wada loves me, Wada loves me not, Wada loves me, Wada loves me not
Seriously, isn't this supposed to use the full advantage of the PS3 and Blue-ray ? , it can't be done if it went multipalt
ANYWAYS it'll be great game.. maybe not the GOD I hoped for after all
so, Wada loves me, Wada loves me not, Wada loves me, Wada loves me not
Square is screwing Sony up the Arse
as long as it doesn't lower the quality of the overall game, it's not a big deal.
I would buy on release day on xbox 360 like I did with ffXIII
Great move from square, Square don't own the sony fanboys nothing, FF was nintendo remember? stupid kids, GROW UP, square is a business lol
Hmm. I feel some strong emotions, here.
It's coming to the 360 why say "will let you know at E3" when it was already announced as an exclusive? that just means they can't say "yes" until that time. I can't see him saying "no it's not coming to the 360" when it could be said now. It's been in development for a while now so they mite have been making it for both consoles for a while.
Triple post:
Also to everyone saying "With the 'test' of FFXIII on 360', they showed that money is to be made blah blah blah". Are you under the "all games should be multiplatform" philosophy? Why not make it for the Wii also? Crystal Tools runs on the Wii, and that's even more money, right?
JPH85:
"FF 13 was finished on the PS3 before they ported it to the 360"
So why was it shown last year at E3 running on the 360? They said they wouldn't start working on the 360 version till the PS3 version was done, but they lied about that too.....
How about they do what Microsoft always does...make it timed exclusive for a year, then see the difference between day and date releases on one platform vs. late ports.
It seems like everytime there's an "exclusive" in the works, the 360 gets the good end on both parts. Either by getting it first, selling millions, then a year old PS3 ports sells horribly by comparison (well not the JRPGs at least), then everyone goes "see it wasn't worth putting on the PS3". Let Versus come out a year later, and give the system where your fanbase TRULY is, a chance to get the best optimized game, LIKE IT WAS PLANNED TO BE!!!
I can barelly wait to see Nomura quitting SE.....then most of his team following suit.
After seeing how XIII become because of going multiplatform, I dont have much hope left for vsXIII. Another few years of waiting...lots of contend being stripped and so on..oh! It'll be DLC, right? Nice paying more for something that should have been there anyways....
Is all good for bussiness, but the fans are F***** up pretty hard by this.
@Tridrakious
Sucks for you.......I love how people's fanboyish ways prevent them from playing a great game...llol ...Its Awesome To have more choices on which system to get it for!!
haha man some people are pathetic i was expecting this news and of course there a business there not gonna say no to more money and you cant say they would sell more if it was excusive cause theres just less consoles simple and anyone who boycotts just because it isnt exclusive is just a complete fukwit almost every game is multiplat no one seems to complain about that
This should definitely go multiplatform. Only idiots think FF13 was stripped down because of the 360. It's just an excuse to blame the 360. FF 13 was finished on the PS3 before they ported it to the 360. FF Versus 13 is still in the works, and I think it needs lots of time to be complete. Sure FF 13 had 1080p CGI movie, which was clearer, and slightly better graphics, but saying that lots was removed because of the restrictions of the 360 is just stupid. The game can be put on 10 DvDs for all I care. And selling 1.3 million copies in 2 months on the 360 is a BIG deal. Lots of games don't reach that number in over a year or even ever. So that's lot of profit for Square-Enix. I knew it was just a matter of time for FF Versus 13 to go to the 360, and it will.
ugh
well. at least we have a warning with this one jajajaja!!!!.
FF is really a passionate series, and they will lose sales again if they do this. If I were SE I would experiment and just release a PS3 FF exclusive and see how that does (not including 14 because its MMO). I am sure they will be surprised at how many more copies of Vs they sale compared to FF13 just for the simple fact it was on the Xbox
Their test with FF13 makes it stupid to not go multiplatform. Any PS3 fan who thinks Square gimps their games for Xbox 360 needs to take their fan head out of their fan butt. FF13 was in developer well past the point of possible major changes before it was decided to port it to the Xbox 360. FFvs13 will have the advantage of being able to be optimised better now that they already have the Crystal Engine working on the Xbox 360.
Unless SCE has some sort of exclusive deal with SE, there's no real reason why they shouldn't make the title a multi-platform release. They already have the Xbox game engine available.
Given that there's a big market for FF games in NA, and that the NA market favors the Xbox, restricting the release to the PS3 would be leaving money on the table.
Hope nobody actually thought this title was supposed to be some sort of exclusive "reward" for SCE exclusive gamers.
I think it will happen. I assumed this when FF13 went multiplat.
ughhh... lets hope nomura stops it or quits then it would be lol...
So, they will never use blu-ray capacity to its fullest. Shame on Square-Enix.
If they do this. I will never buy another Final Fantasy title again.
I went against my better judgement and used my built up trade-in credit at Gamestop to buy XIII.
A mistake I will have to live with for awhile. Considering how many times they ** up the experience.
I hope not, japanese RPG with high end graphic on Xbox means restriction somewhere.
Ok, so why not to make it on wii too?... They could make another million as monster hunter tri did...
Just kidding, we all know SE hates wii...
ONly way this would work if it remains a timed exclusive for PS3. That way they have more time to tune the 360 version.
Not believing it till I see it.
We went through the same thing with MGS4.
And another thing, I sure hope that this doesnt delay the release or that theyll be able to bring the 360 version up to speed because that would blow big time, I was thinking we would get this sometime early next year but if they have yet to start on the 360 version and plan on doing one then damn it all. I love rpgs more than any other genre so ffvxiii has been a big interest for me, lets hope a delay isnt forthcoming.
Exactly teigaga, I wouldnt mind if this was just a 360 exclusive or ps3 exclusive, as long as it only has to be created with one console in mind. I wanted to see what SE could really do by tapping into one consoles power without having to compensate for the other. It does make the most sense though, why alienate an entire console when sony hasnt secured the rights, SE is a business and they need money to remain so. Its just unfortunate that they will most likely end up having to make compromises, im sure they could push the 360 and ps3 to its limits. Hopefully if this is true, they have two separate teams working on them in order to better optimize the game for both systems. Either way im still getting it.
my only problem with this is that i thought VsXIII was suspposed to use full potentail of the ps3 but if its going multiplatform its puts this to dought. most 360/Ps3 exclusives look better than their multiplatform counterparts.
Are you sony guys insane? FFXIII had bad reviews for it's GAME DESIGN, not for it's graphics, length or whatnot. Some X360 RPGs has all things you're complaining FFXIII don't.
@jayderyu: I'm simply explaining the facts. It's a FACT that FFXIII going on 360 caused an internet meltdown. Literally. The site was down for like an hour. It's a FACT that Square Enix originally stated that FF13 would be PS3 exclusive.
Besides which, completely unbiased news is no fun.
I'm cool with it either way. I just want the game.
wow, this news made me realize one thing : NO ONE Believes in Square Enix !!
the 360 version is not completely confirmed and Wada only said :"We'll be looking into it". Yet everyone realized it will DEFINITELY come to 360 !!!
I get the feeling there was some sort of exclusivity agreement with Sony for vsXIII. Otherwise why wouldn't you say you plan to take all future FF titles multiplat at the time you announce FFXIII being multiplat. So given it looks like vsXIII is going multi (and 360 sales of XIII suggest it needs to in order to maximise game sales) I think the PS3 version might get a few cherries that 360 misses out on as we have seen for a number of multis this gen. So either extra playable characters, additional side quests, timed exclusivity, something along those lines. The main game itself will still need to be the same though.
Can we please either have true unbiased reviewers or biased new. I never like the news that's biased, but tries to sound sincere. Theres too many undertone snide comments that makes me think the article doesn't deserve the hits.
I will stand by my belief that exclusive should be relegated to first and second party. Unless there is a viable reason why it can't happen. In an example both Natal and Move have cameras. If these Cameras were used as more than just trackers than the Wii would miss out on said games and the reverse is true. If said game requires a good pointer(I have my doubts about Natal) then other consoles miss out on said games.
So yeah I think Versus should go to 360. It expands the companies profits and let's more people enjoy the game. Why should gamers be greedy and not want more people to enjoy the game or the company that makes the game to be successful?
Guess the game will only come out in 2020 then :S
360 fans...even if sony fans are whinning, they are right, if this happens, vs 13 may be affected, did you see ff13? due to the xbox 360 dvd limitations all of you experienced, 3 discs were needed and it didn't have any towns at all and we got a very lineal game.
So, in other words, xbox-360 disc limitations mean less content for ps3 owners and that means more games that suck.
And in other news...... WATER IS WET!!!!!
Aaargh... can't any 3rd party PS3 exclusive just stay exclusive for once? I know it's not confirmed, but since FFXIII sold very well on the 360, it's easy to see why SE would consider this.
if they do I'll actually be able to play the game, therfore I'm happy, I love how mad people are getting when we know next to nothing about the game yet :)
The damn Xbox is holding the Ps3 back. The fact that FF had to be on 3 disks justifies that. If Square-Enix actually focused more on the game rather than the profit, then they could make the new Uncharted 2, if they tried hard enough.
Everyone said that FFXIII wasn't as good as the previous ones (which kind of applies to a lot of the FF games... but that's besides the point). The curious thing is that they could have MADE it great if 1) They weren't limited by the 360, and 2) They actually tried to use the Ps3 to its full potential. Until they do that, they will never become that notable this gen.
F*** OFF!
Wada can go boil his ugly, treasonous, head!
I hope SE go bust because I just can't take anymore of their lies!
as long as the game doesn't suffer because of it... back when the original XIII was revealed to be going multiplat, the ps3 wasn't doing that great, and it was a big blow to an already sickly system. The PS3 is solidly outperforming the 360 now, it's not such a huge hit. But to say that the quality wont suffer from going multi plat... well : /
also, what one person comments about it being bad now because of the possible 360 port, and how many 360 fanboi retards start screaming that all the sony fans are abandoning it? You guys are a joke. versus XIII has always been the game I have looked forward to most out of the two, and based on the original XIII, it doesn't have to be that great to be better heh
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
