Kaixes (on 15 September 2009)

Okay then. So was it, or was it not the game that sixthaxis was talking about a couple of months ago?

Oh and yay. I've been told this game is mediocre, but I've been waiting for quite a while, and I WILL buy it.

TheTruthHurts! (on 15 September 2009)

Congrats, a great title to add to the PS3 library. I would pick this puppy up just so I didnt have to listen to the horrible English voice acting.

Squall_Leonhart (on 15 September 2009)

It would appear that SE has finally seen sense and that future games will come on the PS3 from the offset! And SE, you can keep that tripe that was TLR... Awful awful game!!

It would be great news if the game wasn't disappointing. PS3 owners need to by ToV. I already own ToV on 360 and I'll be picking up the PS3 version.

Kantor (on 15 September 2009)

I bet nobody saw this coming since SO4 was announced for 360.

  • 0
macmacmac (on 15 September 2009)

Otacon: Hold it, SO4 users. Time to change the disc. I know, I know... It's a pain. But you need to swap Disc 1 for Disc 2. You see the disc labeled "2"?

User1: No.

Otacon: Huh? Oh, wait! We're on PS3 system! It's a Blu-ray Disc. Dual-layered, too — no need to swap.

User: Damn it, Otacon, get a grip!

Otacon: Yeah, what an age we live in, huh? Wonder what they'll think of next!

JupiterCrash (on 15 September 2009)

Been dying for a JRPG to hold me over till FFXIII. The 360 release would have been a good time, not the SAME time as FFXIII. Ok bitterness vented. Sorry.

  • 0
perpride (on 15 September 2009)

A good game. If you are a fan of JRPG's, and have played the previous games in this series, this is good news to ya.

  • 0
TheConduit (on 15 September 2009)

YES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES come on FINALLY about damm time

Seriously could this have made more sense its always seen success on the playstation and many fans would have bought a PS3 for this before they announced it for the 360

Will pick this up no question

  • 0
frictionini (on 15 September 2009)

they have a right to call it a "DEFINITE VERSION" in any way IMO. Fanboy or not, that's what it is unless the PS3 version will have extra technical failures.

  • 0
Avarice28 (on 15 September 2009)

Officially I have no other reason to own any other console this generation (sarcasm). But really this was eventually coming to the ps3, it was just a matter of time.

  • 0
huaxiong90 (on 15 September 2009)

Knew this would happen.

starterman1989 (on 15 September 2009)

  • 0
Barozi (on 15 September 2009)

I'm glad for PS3 only owners.

But I'm not for PS3 fanboys acting like retards when they say "DEFINITE VERSION" etc.

  • 0
Arm (on 15 September 2009)

I'm not a hater on SE for this news but I think I've squeezed as much out of this title as I can , dam battle achievements like heal 777 and 7777 exactly and others I won't bother but the rest of the game is great.

Only real new toon I can see they would add for people would be Crow ( guy in the red suit).

  • 0
pearljammer (on 15 September 2009)

Regardless, good news for those who were looking forward to it. I'm sure there are many who will enjoy it.

  • 0
pearljammer (on 15 September 2009)

@OkeyDokey - It is. Believe me, it is. I'm not sure what they could to in the porting process to fix this game... The battles were fun, but the dialogue and the voice overs were both absolutely dreadful.

  • 0
Arm (on 15 September 2009)

After playing over 700 hours of SO4, you can add new boss but as in any TRI ACE game with Gabriel Celest and the Queen as being the end all final boss this is only to justify PS3 owner to purchase this version. So this "new" boss, new item, weapon isn't really anything worth jumping up for as the game has hundreds of item, weapon etc that you most likely won't bother with. New character? Ha even the hero sucks VS Arumat.

I've seen a lot of Japanese gamertags with as much achievement on that game as me(if not more) so unless they want to redo -Galaxy-Universal and Chaos...I don't see them jumping on this for a mere paint job.

will this be the first full game that SE has published for PS3 in japan?

  • 0

  • 0
Bagaren85 (on 15 September 2009)

Good news for PS3 owners in jp, who most likely will buyt it. In NA it will be forgotten. Game wasnt so good, but at least you can swap to JP voice. Or your ear will bleed.

so yes, yahoo

  • 0
starterman1989 (on 15 September 2009)

Remember the gamefly listing from before? Since now we know for sure that SE were lying (again, haha), we know that gamefly listing is actually true.

Since it is kinda unlikely that gamefly will import SO4 PS3, I think it is safe to assume that SO4 PS3 is getting published in the US as well...

  • 0
chanskie (on 15 September 2009)

Great, mean that i don't have to swap disc again~~~! after completing the game and go back for the secret dungeon, it was kind annoying i have to swap disc if going places to places.....Grrrrr

@ Kenryoku

SO is more popular in the West than in Japan.

  • 0
Stats87 (on 15 September 2009)

If it's "International", you would think the game would include the English version as well would it not? Which means PS3 owners could import the JP version if it doesn't get released in NA.

  • 0
solidpumar (on 15 September 2009)

Again the better version coming to Ps3.
The 360 is losing exclusives left and right, and the Ps3 keeps getting more and more exclusives.

Ps3 is the best console ever.

  • 0
Kenryoku_Maxis (on 15 September 2009)

Usually the tag 'International' implies its just for Japan. And I really don't see any market for this outside of Japan. The game barely made a dent in Japan let alone America or Europe.

I'd take a look at it if it featured some new features and dual audio support. Otherwise, don't see much point.

  • 0
COKTOE (on 15 September 2009)

The 360 is already dead in Japan. 360 "exclusives" like this and TOV coming to PS3 are wrapping the coffin in chains and pouring concrete on it. Not a bad thing for the other regions either. :)

SE and their ports/remakes. They never cease to amaze me. Comparative of Activision but in the East.

  • 0

and it begins

  • 0
rexwong (on 15 September 2009)

it is a very good news,
once again, Star Ocean International would have many many new feature may be few more new characters.

New items, New weapons, New Boss for sure,

Those guy buy XBOX version would have to PS3 again.

The PS3 version can be define as FULL VERSION and the XBOX version can be consider as "TRAIL".

Those guy in japan buy XBOX for this game may cry :D

Game looks crap.

  • 0

hopefully they fixed the game during the port process, the last thing we need is to get a year old port for it to be more broken than the original.
