it's not very appealing (physically). You would think that they would make it look really slick. They should of had an option to flip on LEDs or something that made it more attractive.

I still love my ps3 fat. The slim looks good but the fat in my opinion is better.

watch the unboxing video. It looks 100% better in real life than in these pictures.

I like it, but it wouldn't hurt if it kept it's original rectangular form (looking from above) only an 4-6 cm less wide and it would be perfect :)

Much uglier than the original. Glad I didn't wait.

I half suspected it wouldn't be that much smaller than the original. Its definitely far uglier and looks very plasticy. Having 2nd thoughts about getting one now. May wait and see what bundles they do for Xmas.

Where is the hard drive access slot if you want to upgrade?

This isn't exactly ... pretty. Much better than the original, so it's a win in that respect. But it's so plan, and matte black? Eh. The Wii is rather straight forward and simplistic looking, but the 'ipod white' makes it really come together. This slim looks like a fake. But again, better than the original. Not all these weird angles and what not on it.

I like the minimalist approach. Definitely a step up and humble look for slim compared to the arrogant look of the fat.

I like this. aside from it being more energy efficient (CPUs shrunk) it looks sleek. judging from the negative responses you cant please everyone.

And where does the hard drive go? If I got one, I'd immediately upgrade the HD.

Looks terrible! I won't buy one. Have a 60 gb PS3 right now and am perfectly happy with that one. The old PS3 design is sleek this one just looks like garbage IMO..

I mean it looks more like a PS2 than a PS3, it just looks old.....

So ugly! Why could they not simply just make it smaller, retaining the glossy finish, logo, and other features? They had to go and make it ugly....

Glossy, silver trim foreman grill ps3 beats that ugly black frisbee any day of the week.

I think the slim looks alright... but I would have preferred it piano black.

That said, it will match the 360 Elite better now.

PS3 fat is so much sexier and is so much more to love.

Having Sony announce the slim has nothing to do with preferring a fat ps3 over the slim.

I just wish Sony kept the glossy finish...

Actually it doesn't look that bad to my eyes. Sony just has done this so cheaply as possible without taking any features out.

I prefer my monster shiny one instead of the slim. the slim doesn't look nearly as nice but than again, who uses a system to stare at the design...

Its a freakin square. Not the best of shapes. Not as much of an impact compared to the slimmed down PSOne and Ps2. Probably looks better up close. I wonder if they managed to reduce weight.

The PS1 and PS2 Slims looked fine, I found them to look better than the originals, but this thing is just plain ugly. I guess it was kind of hard to make it small, and still look good with all the processors and what-not that the PS3 needs to run properly.

@megaman79 Are you kidding me? That thing doesn't look better than the Wii at all! The normal PS3 looks better than a Wii but not the Slim. You are the one with no taste.

it looks awesome in the front angle IMO

but the top it looks like they made it so you add some sticker or something on it? (like the ps1) , it looks plain.

Maybe it's just a perception thing, but in that first pick, if you lay them down correctly facing you, the slim looks deeper back. Looks cool. With these pics, I think it looks more like Sony's electronic home theatre devices than a game console. It's pretty nice and simple looking. Just looks like it's gonna take up more cabinet room from front to back. Need to see dimensions. Another price drop and another year and maybe I will rethink this upgrade to BD from regular DVD.

people that don't like this have no taste. Its easily better than the Wii in terms of design now. Old version was just too big and now that you can compare it just wasn't slick like the PS2's all black setup was.

I like the slim version of the PS3 but I wish the just kept the original logo from the bigger version of the PS3. I would also like for them to put in it another color. Anyways, this is still great for Sony.

Is this actually wider than the fat PS3? Looks pretty good, the Japanese should go mad for this like they did the PSP slim and lite!

yeah the xbox 360 is HUGE not to mention it looks rather craptastic. Still i was expecting the PSThree to be in the lines of PSTwo but then again maybe they've shrunken it down to the same proportions. PS2 vs PSTwo and PS3 vs PSThree

even slimmed down this thing is still pretty huge compared to the wii
