Control 2 to Enter Full Production in 2025, Alan Wake 2 is Nearly Profitable - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 01 November 2024 / 2,689 ViewsRemedy Entertainment in its latest business review announced Control 2 will enter full production in 2025.
"Control 2 has progressed well in the production readiness stage and is on track to start full production during 2025. Many of the critical features of the game have been implemented to mitigate production risk, and workflows and pipelines are being tested in preparation for full production."
Control 2 is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The developer last month announced FBC: Firebreak, a three-player co-operative first-person shooter set in the Federal Bureau of Control from the game Control. It will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in 2025.
Remedy Entertainment is also developing Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, which entered full production earlier this year.
Alan Wake 2 has also recouped most of its development and marketing expenses as of the end of September. The Lake House DLC and the Physical Deluxe Edition released on October 22.

Hope they learnt from AW2 that they should never get Epic to publish
If it released on Steam it would have guaranteed to be profitable
But then they would still have had the problem of getting funding for the game. I can't imagine the folks at Remedy exactly being thrilled about the exclusivity, but surely it made sense business-wise (or at least so they must've thought). My understanding is that Epic's funding was basically a zero-risk option for Remedy.
I'll take Epic publishing over no Alan Wake 2 any time.
Considering I had feared Alan Wake 2 might never become profitable due to its initial sales, this is good news for the game. It'll probably become profitable soon then, and could end up being quite profitable in the coming years. Too bad it's not on Steam, because it'd guarantee great success in the long run.
They thought going digital only was going to help them financially.. Backfired
darn, AW3 isn't looking very likely at this point
It will take 5 years coz of control 2 taking time of development
