I know Xbox is doing (a lot) less than others, but does 800K is really that bad ? True question here, no troll or anything.

For xbox standard. And Microsoft releasing its Playstation games isn't a bad number. Xbox series will still sell more than the SNES and Nintendo 64

Xbox Series is falling behind Xbox One launch aligned, so I wouldn't bet everything that it outsells the SNES.

In isolation, it really isn't bad. It's still on track to sell between 50 and 55 million consoles. In what universe is that a failure?

People remember the N64 and the Sega Genesis as endearing consoles and, ultimately, successful consoles. This in spite that they sold 32.93 million and 30.75 million units respectively.

I would go so far as to say, Xbox as a whole is doing well and has passed Windows in terms of revenue for MS. PS5 is obviously selling better and that is good for gaming as a whole. But, I find it strange people are still looking at sales figures and getting all hyped up and tribal about sales. It is as strange to me as comparing the sales of Honda Civics to Toyota Corollas. Both are successful and good for the industry.

So the Switch is by far the oldest of the current-gen consoles yet also the one with the smallest YoY percentage decline - though that's probably gonna change once TotK hits and grows the gap to last year.

Switch is seeing the smallest YoY decline compared to the other two…wow.

Yeah Switch sales are definitely better than forecast. Remember there have been no big games this year at all to drive those sales.

Nintendo likely in no rush to release a successor.

also that is kind of a misleading statement despite being true, basically they all declined by the same amount, 13 percent, close enough

PS5 will outsell Xbox One consoles by the end of March.

Ps5 sold nearly double in 2023. And looks like it might be double that in 24

Not likely, according to the chart

The chart is showing that the 2024 pace is already 13% under the 2023 pace

And unless Sony repeats this year the multiple discount PS5 sales for long periods of 2023, then 2024 won't even come close to repeating last year's sales

Remember, Sony already had to revise down their projections - Sony wanted to sell 25 million PS5s for the last year, but lowered down that projection by 4 million to 21 million
