There are articles based on our worldwide estimates, as well as the US, Europe, and Japan.

This monthly series compares the aligned European sales of the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Wii.

The Wii launched in Europe in December 2006, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

March 2023 is the 73rd month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for in Europe. During the latest month, the Wii outsold the Switch by 97,923 units.

In the last 12 months, the Switch has outsold the Wii by 3.16 million units. The Wii is currently ahead of the Switch by 532,765 units.

The 73rd month for the Nintendo Switch is March 2023 and for the Wii it is December 2012. The Switch has sold 31.56 million units, while the Wii sold 32.09 million units during the same timeframe. The Wii sold current Switch sales in month 71.

The Wii sold 33.12 million units in Europe during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 1.56 million units to outsell the Wii in Europe.

The Switch will do what the Wii failed to do.

1.7M left to outsell Wii's total sales in Europe. Sounds doable during this year, if Switch's weekly bottom is 50k in Europe and 35 weeks are left.
