PS5 God of War Ragnarök Bundle Discounted by $50 - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 24 March 2023 / 3,951 Views

Sony Interactive Entertainment and several retailers in the US have discounted the price of the PlayStation 5 God of War Ragnarök bundle by $50.

The bundle, originally priced at $559.99, is now available for $509.99 on PlayStation Direct, Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.

The standard PlayStation 5 console is priced at $499.99, meaning this deal is giving those who purchase it God of War Ragnarök for just $10. This is the biggest discount seen for the PS5.

God of War Ragnarök is available for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

I literally just bought this for someone. I'm not sure if they like GOW but for $10 I figured why not.

why they are doing this?
Perhaps slim model is coming soon and they want to sell as much old models as possible!?
would make sense...

I think the slim model is coming and I think k this indicates that it will be $50 cheaper than the $399 OG.

So my prediction is the PS5 Slim will be all digital for $349 and the optional Disc Drive will be $100. This will come in handy for people with physical PS4 libraries and for collectors. So $449. That USD

Can Nintendo learn something here lol. PS5 already giving discounts outside of holiday season. They've had great sales the last couple months, Sony probably trying to keep it up with discounts now as the pent up demand is getting met and sales no doubt are likely to start falling back to base numbers. Switch systems should all see a $50 drop to keep sales up.

If Nintendo is happy with the Switch's selling pace, they have little reason to discount. I'm sure discounts would boost sales though as it does with all products...

That is a good offer all things considered.

I paid 562 euros with shipping fees for a ps5 alone on psdirect in France. I feel scammed :/

There is always going to be cheaper option after release, so how buying when you wanted for the advertised price is a scam?

it's not at all about buying early. it's about sony following Apple's policy regarding pricing in europe. The PS5 alone is 550€ and 620€ with a digital game.
On the other hand it's interresting to see that nintendo's pricing in Europe is sheaper than US regarding consoles and games.

It isn't "Apple policy" it is called exchange ratio and taxes. USA the taxes are charged after your purchase (so 5 to 15% depending where you are) while in Europe (and Brazil) the advertised price already include the taxes. If you get the final price of both USA and UK/EU and put all on the same currency the prices are very close.

Both the standard and digital editions along with both God of War bundles are discounted in my country’s amazon (Saudi Arabia) by 80$ and they are all over the best selling list including number 1 for the standard version!

I'm in Canada and the bundle is on sale $60 off... but still more expensive than before the PS5 price increase late last year.

Still waiting for update/patch for Ragnarok news.

SPOILER BELOW.

What's needed is a New game +, ability to skip all cutscenes, and ESPECIALLY BE ABLE TO SKIP ALL ATREUS PLAYABLE SECTIONS which were by far the worst parts of the game and what makes Ragnarok worse than 2018 GoW.
Fast travel is desperately needed cuz there's a crazy amont of time wasting repetitive traversal.
And they need to make Runes appear far more quickly than they do already.

It's clear that 2018 is a better game, because of all the bad decisions in Ragnarok. Ranarok has better gameplay generally though.

Fast travel totally goes against the single panel design they gone for.

they're trying to gain an advantage over the 550 seriesx froza bundle that's selling just as fast ps5 at least in my area.

If they put the Forza bundle on sale to match this, I'd snap that up in a heartbeat. I have Forza Horizon 5 standard edition via Game Pass, but I don't have any of the DLC (and I always buy Forza Horizon at some point, since it eventually disappears from the store due to licensed music and cars). $510 USD with FH5 maybe would be enough for me to upgrade from Series S to Series X.

Yes good luck believing PS5 sales are being challenged by the Forza bundle.

Demand has been so good for PS5s for two and a half years we only just finally got the ability to pick up a console without paying scalper prices. The heck are you talking about?
