People have been saying that ever since Final Fantasy adopted Active Time Battles. And it's never been true.

The Active Time Battle (ATB) system was created by Hitoyuki Ito for Final Fantasy IV back in 1991 (and was used in the main series of games from Final Fantasy IV to IX inclusively, and then brought back for X-2). You are saying people have been saying “that” since 1991?

If that’s what you’re saying, then no, people haven’t been saying that for that long.

This may just be anecdotal, but I remember in the 90's when some some youths would tell others that Final Fantasy was the best RPG because the battles weren't strictly turn-based.

But it is strictly turn based. Each characters and enemies wait for their turn before taking action. The turns are simply coming for each characters and enemies based on their stats instead of a an inflexible pre-determined order.

Thats some really great news, way ahead of other dragon quest games. Will probably reach 7M, with time and some luck maybe 8M a few years down the road.

And they still want to deviate from classic dq formula and take dq to a new direction with 12. Watch being ATB or action jrpg smh

DQ XI may end up as being the best entry or at least one of the best entries of the series. Look what happend to Final Fantasy when they targeted "adults" as audience... I have a bad feeling about DQ XII.

Call me a moron, but I thought Final Fantasy consistently has aimed for a teen audience. What are you thinking of?

Great game especially once you enable hardmode.
