Nintendo announced four more games will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online SNES and NES apps. The games are Caveman NinjaMagical Drop 2Super Baseball Simulator 1.000, and Spanky’s Quest for the SNES app, and Ninja JaJaMaru-kun for the NES app.

Here is an overview of the games:

Super NES:

  • Caveman Ninja (also known as Joe & Mac) – Can cave-dudes Joe and Mac rescue the lost cave-dudettes? In this action game from 1991, life was pretty cool for Joe and Mac until a bunch of Neanderthal nerds crashed their village. The dudes will have to leap to the rescue and jump, dash and use roll attacks to get past the stone-age obstacles in their way. Just make sure to pick the best weapon for the situation, and the boys are sure to make it through!
  • Magical Drop 2 – This puzzle game launched on the Super Famicon system in 1996, but it never saw an English release. But even if you’ve never played, the rules are simple to learn. Catch and throw the drops that descend from overhead. Create vertical lines of three drops of the same color to clear all the connected drops. Enjoy four playable modes, including a mode that assigns you a rank when the game ends, as well as a story mode with 10 characters to play!
  • Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 – Get ready for high intensity, superhuman baseball spectacles! Use Ultra Plays like Phantom Ball, which will make the ball vanish mid-pitch, or Meteor Hit, which will knock out fielders who make contact with the ball before it bounces. With multiplayer options, a grand total of 18 baseball teams and the ability to create your own original team, this is the wacky baseball simulation dreams are made of!
  • Spanky’s Quest – Spanky was on his way to a picnic when the witch Morticia began dropping bricks from the sky. Trapped, with six towers now built across the land, Spanky must clear each before the witch’s evil pet crow catches him. He’ll have to use his magic ball to stun enemies, bounce it off his head to power it up and pop it to attack – and try on some hats along the way.

NES:

  • Ninja JaJaMaru-kun – Take on the role of a ninja and rescue the captured Princess Sakura in this action-packed game, originally released only in Japan. JaJaMaru must use his throwing stars to defeat lurking monsters. Keep an eye out for the ultimate power-up—a ride on Gamapa-kun, the giant frog!

After so many years, Nintendo is still skimping on their VC effords. Not a GB/GBA/N64 library anywhere on site, much less GC/DS and onwards. And you still have to pay for their subpar to get to whatever titles they see fit to add. And then they'll complain about emulation...

I'm actually irked that they're purposefully skimping on even the well known greats from NES/SNES, and are simply resorting to unknown or lesser liked titles for both VC (besides DK and Mario).

Like gimme all the good games and GB/GBC/GBA VC greats. Switch is honestly the worst system for BC thus far, and it's sad, because it is the very platform that could easily accomplish good VC and have a greater use for it (being a mobile console).

Add more consoles Nintendo! GB, GBC, GBA, N64, GC etc.
What even are these games here? Where are Mother, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG? How about actually relevant third party games like the first six Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger? We only got Ninja Gaiden and Ghosts 'n Goblins. How about Mega Man? This was promising at first, but now it's just a waste. They ruined it!

Nah, they couldn't ruin what wasn't good to begin with. The moment they abandoned the VC model for this rental service under the online service, it was over.

This is how they get away with so much these days, folks just defend them for it and allow them to do as they wish. This really isn't good enough VC at all...

They've sadly gone a long way from the days of the Wii VC. That console could play anything...

Exactly! I'm actually pissed. Like nobody, absolutly nobody cares about these games they are adding now, I never even heard of them. Why tf was the OG Fire Emblem released as a payed game, only in Japan it was added to NSO. What about the other four Fire Emblem games from the Famicom and Super Famicom, where are they?

Still waiting for NES Bomberman...

Like c'mon, where are all the great classics at?. All they seem to be dolling out are games I've never even heard of, or tons of sports/TBT games. There were many a platformer/shooter game/action back then, where are they at, ninty?
