less than a year, new IP and +6.5M, very nice numbers.
And is also getting a movie. The movie might boost sales of the sequel.
One of the best GAMES in my life! impressive atmosphere, story, gameplay, worlds, soundtracks.
2.4 millions after 3 days
5 millions after 4 months
6.5 millions after 7 months and a half.
Not bad for a new IP.
Congrats for the great sales and hope the movie turns out well.
What I don't like about completely Asian-themed movies made in Hollywood are the limitation of good actors. Only American-Asian actors (i.e. either born in or living since a long time in North-America) will be chosen. Except maybe for some (almost) non-speaking roles or small supporting roles they will not hire people from Asia. The reason is English. Hollywood accepts only a certain quality of English. While a certain degree of accent is okay, the people from non-English speaking countries abroad (and especially from Asia) have a too bad English (not judged by myself but by Hollywood).
If you ad that for this movie, martial arts skills are also necessary, you will come down to the usual handful of American-Asian actors and quite frankly, most of them are simply not good enough actors. to carry such a movie!
"have a too bad English"
you don't say...
They can always try the route of old movies from Schwaznegger and Jackie Chan with someone dubbing them.
Hmm...didn’t GoT sell like 4mil in its first month? So I feel like 2.5mil over the subsequent 7mo is disappointing? Maybe I’m off base, though. And ultimately, even if sales have slowed, 6.5mil in 8mo for a new IP, esp one that goes against mainstream trends in some ways, is phenomenal. I have my copy and can’t wait to play it after I beat Bloodborne in a few days (yes, late to the game ;)
