Capcom is putting on the final touches to Resident Evil Village as the game will be launching on May 7 for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Capcom’s EMEA and UK marketing director Antoine Molant in an interview with GamesIndustry said the goal for the company is that Resident Evil Village will be the most successful game in franchise history, in terms of its quality and sales performance.

"Our main ambition for this year, although there's so much going on at the same time, is to make sure Resident Evil Village will be the best-performing Resident Evil title, both in terms of quality as well as business," said Molant.

Molant added "Let's not forget that Resident Evil Village will also be available for the widely-installed PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as for PC. Internally, the most difficult thing is the breakdown of our forecast, as it is tied to how fast players will transition, and in connection, how hardware availability and future supply will support this."

I liked the trailer and playing RE7 they have a good chance of meeting it, RE2R was great as well, need to play RE3R.

re3 remake was my favourite of the two. But my best advice is to start the game in hard mode, for the true RE experience, otherwise you end up with an easy game, non survival horror game .

re2 is the standard bearer of all survival horror genre
while the re2 remake is a close 2nd

re5 is best selling re from all platforms combined right?
although its an action game

while re4 has legendary status to actually compete for greatest game of all time...

quite the accomplishment that re village must tackle haha!

well going by re7, i can;t see how they will make the best game in the series. 7 started off terrific for the early few hrs and then went downhill and ended too quick.

Not a chance. And what I played of the demo it wasn't too good either.

Seems like revenue is more likely sales metric than unit volume, and they can get better cut of sales now with digital compared to older retail distribution. Of course fans may be more drawn to unit volume.

A 96 back then isn’t the same as a 96 in the current age.
Quality can improve over RE4 even if it doesn’t end at 96 on metacritic.
