Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was one of the key launch titles for the PlayStation 5 with the game also getting a release on the PlayStation 4. The first-party PlayStation title sold 663,000 digital units in November across the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, according to report from research firm SuperData.

The figure is far below Marvel’s Spider-Man, which sold 2.2 million digital units in September 2018. However, the game was not considered a full sequel and is on a similar scale to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales had a much bigger launch than Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

"Spider-Man: Miles Morales sold 663K digital units across PlayStation 4 and 5," reads the SuperData report. "Sales of the Sony-published title did not compare to the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man in September 2018 (2.2M). However, the title was not billed as a full sequel, and sales were significantly higher than those of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a PlayStation exclusive of similar scope."

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available now for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

This game will have (8) long legs.

Scalpers are ruining Sony's software PS5 sales :( - also this report doesn't include physical sales for Miles Morales.

Yeah, not surprising. People know its basically DLC being sold at full price. Sales expectations should be lower and price is too high.

Agreed it's a 4.5 hour long short dlc and they're selling it for 50$

What I want to see is the numbers for Demon Souls, since that was the game that all the media was saying that it was the only true next-gen experience, and that it was the only reason to upgrade to a next gen console.

I'm pretty sure that the numbers were significantly lower than Miles Morales, since Demon's Souls is more expensive, it only launched on the PS5, and it's definitely more of a niche title.

@SuperNintend0rk Yep, that is exactly what I used to say but for some reason "journalists" and "professional YouTubers" kept repeating that exclusives were the only reason to upgrade to a new console.

I don't know why anyone would buy a PS5 just for Demon's Souls unless they're a huge Souls fan.

I know, right!? Sometimes I feel like I should start a Youtube channel. I have heard some of these "professional" Youtubers saying the craziest things.

I bought a PS5 but I don't own a PS4 so it had an amazing library of games for me at launch.

Of course, and even if someone already had a PS4, the jump in performance and resolution in new games is more than enough to justify the upgrade. I mean, PC gamers pay hundreds of dollars for a jump much smaller than that.

That always seemed like BS because thoae games don't have wide appeal per se, I mean compared to something like Spiderman.

I don't doubt Demon's Soul is a quality product, it will have legs. But the masses are buying cross gen games AGAIN.

I haven't bought DS yet because I don't want to pay full price but I have to admit it's very tempting.

It sold 70% less than the Spiderman 2018 despite launching on 2 consoles
