Here is an overview of the game:
In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan. As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He is resolved do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.
Key Features:
- In War-Torn Tsushima, Ancient Beauty Endures – Venture beyond the battlefield to experience feudal Japan like never before. In this open-world action adventure, you’ll roam vast countrysides and expansive terrain to encounter rich characters, discover ancient landmarks, and uncover the hidden beauty of Tsushima. Explore meticulously-crafted regions showcasing diversity of life on the sprawling island—from billowing fields and tranquil shrines to ancient forests, villages and stark mountainscapes. Find peace in the quiet moments of natural harmony and solace in the moments you’ll share with the people you help along the way.
- The Rise of the Ghost – Jin was raised and trained in the ways of the samurai. When the Mongols handily defeat the samurai forces, Jin’s world is shattered. He is faced with the most difficult decision of his life: honor the tradition and customs of his samurai upbringing and maintain a fight he cannot win, or deviate from his samurai path to protect the island and its people by any means necessary. In his quest to reclaim Tsushima, Jin must seek the guidance and support of old friends and new unlikely allies. He must break away from tradition, become a new kind of warrior, and protect what’s left of his home at all costs.
- Mud, Blood, and Steel – The Mongol enemy is unpredictable and formidable in warfare and weaponry. Get the upper hand by adapting Jin’s skills and learning new tactics to defend the island and protect the people of Tsushima. Challenge opponents head-on in close quarters with your katana for a unique immersive samurai combat experience. Master the bow to eliminate distant threats with lethal precision. Develop stealth and deception tactics to disorient and ambush enemies with surprise attacks. An adaptive landscape and organic approach to combat makes Tsushima the perfect playground for mixing and matching skills, weapons, and tactics to find the perfect combat blend for your play style. As Jin’s story unfolds, versatility and creativity will become your greatest weapons.

Congrats, deserved, great game.
Congrats!! Its a great game
VGchartz thinks it's a 5/10
I wouldn’t even really bother with that pretentious review score. It’s not like it’s going on Metacritic. Those scores are usually contradictory to the real user score anyways. I mean he even scored Darksiders 3 higher which should tell you something. It’s selling millions and people love it (in the media and out) which is all that matters.
Do you think it's a cheap attempt to gain popularity by saying the opposite of what most people think ?
Quite impressive launch week. It's not even that far behind massive successess like God of War or Spider-Man at 3,1 and 3,3 mil.
tlou2 digital sales is 2.8 million
It sold more than the last of us 1 in 3 days. Come back when ghost 2 comes out.
And they say sequels are so popular because new IP's don't make money..
Seriously though, Days Gone, Horizon, Ghosts of Tsushima and so many others.
Even TLOU in 2013 was a 'risky' new IP.
Stop making these excuses for publishers.
why sony doesnt give update for days gone sales? its been #1 for several weeks in europe and outsold gow and hzd in japan
Perhaps waiting for milestone.
Because of SJW and NPC media outrage. Sony wants the game to keep selling without interference of the media yelling "OMG WHITE heterosexual protagonist!!!
How much did Horizon sell?
Horizon sold 2.6M in 2 weeks.
Wow, so judging by that, Ghost has done incredibly well
The game actually sold out in Japan and many other countries and there is a massive shortage in supply that made Sony go in full blown panic mode
Well deserved. It is the best sucker punch game so far.
Whoops. "Debut" is missing from the headline and the second paragraph. There seems to be a fair amount of confusion about this over on the Youtube, and it's because "debut IP" isn't being properly understood, or in some cases, not being part of the story at all.
