If only there was a 1440p 60fps option

Interesting, maybe it uses less demanding effects and visual settings in the performance mode. But I rather have a lower resolution with higher graphics settings.

I'm honestly a little surprised the game wasn't already 4k 60fps. Maybe I need to watch the trailer again, but it didn't seem to be pushing the kinds of effects that Ratchet & Clank and Horizon 2 are.

I'm guessing this mode turns off ray tracing

That's nice. Personally I'd probably want just 60 FPS at a lower resolution, but this is still good.

Why have lower resolution?

it is a bit dumb to ask for 1440p, when you can have 4k and 60fps

Uh, 4K doesn't come for free. Lower resolution means that the saved power can be used for other things - things I find more important for the visuals than resolution (which I can't even take advantage of right now, and probably won't care for when I can).
