Harry Potter RPG Leak

Potential Spoilers Below

The game will not have Harry Potter in its title and will be called Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy, according to the Reddit user.

Multiple characters from the Harry Potter novels will appear in the game, however, this is being kept under wraps.

Users get to customize their character, choose Male or Female. You can choose if your character is muggle born, pure blood, or half blood. This decision will provide different dialogue and minor quest options. You play as a fifth year student at Hogwarts who transfers from another Wizard school. You play all the way until graduation and in your first year as an Auror.

Your character creation will determine what Hogwarts House you get sorted into. Each of the four Houses has a unique quest line. However, you will not be able to side with the villains. It is possible to change the story in the game as your choices could lead to the death of important characters. You will have a set last name characters will call you by.

The game takes place after the Harry Potter series and after his children graduate from Hogwarts. The main antagonist is not Voldemort, but is a "formidable and a former Death Eater." There are multiple antagonists in the game.

The game will feature a robust skill tree with "five Different branches to focus your characters magical abilities as well as perks that can unlock after X amount of points in a tree." The Reddit user was shown a perk that allows the character to slow combat down for a short amount of time. Another perk allows you to control monsters for a certain amount of time. There is also Good and Evil points. You will not be able to learn any of the forbidden spells.

The story and the combat in the game start off flow, but it does build up over time. Combat is fluid, but relies on your timing and tactics. You will not be able to button mash to win. You will be able to fight other wizards and creatures, as well as having a duel system for rivals.

The game will have a "reimagined version of the Nemesis system used in the Shadow of Mordor games." However, it won't have the same quantity as those games. The main rival in the game is randomly generated, however, he or she will have the same voice actors. The rival can be made into an ally, beaten, or even killed based on your decisions in the game.

There is a lot of exploring in the game with four different hubs that are details and offer lots of NPCs, interactions, secrets, and quests. Hogwarts, Hogsmead, and The Ministry are three of the four hubs. The fourth one is not known by the Reddit user. The end-game takes place in London when you are working for the Ministry of Magic as an Auror.

The game will be on the darker side and the Reddit user is expecting the game to get a T or M rating in the US for the violence and dark themes.

The game does have Quidditch, House Point, and a card game that is as "detailed as Gwent."

The Reddit user says a trailer and gameplay will be released before August and the game is expected to release around June 2021.
