Sony Interactive Entertainment is planning a PlayStation 5 digital event for as early as next week, according to sources who spoke with Bloomberg. The event will showcase next generation games running on the PS5.

Sources say digital event could be held on June 3, however, some of them say the plans have been in flux and the date could change. This is most likely due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Sony is also working on other PS5 events for the following weeks and months, as Sony is not expected to reveal everything about the console during the first digital event.

Bloomberg asked a Sony spokesperson about the event, but they declined to comment.

Video game reporter Jason Schreier has confirmed via Twitter that "Sony is planning a PlayStation 5 game reveal event for next Wednesday, June 3. Gotta include the now-standard caveat that plans can change abruptly during a pandemic, but this date is more firm than previous rumors."

The PlayStation 5 will launch in Holiday 2020.

Woot. I'm so excited about this new gen :) Microsoft is going to show games in July so if Sony can fill the emptiness for me for June, would love that! Also, please show us the machine!

This rumor have been going on for quite some time and considering console launch this date is very reasonable. So unless Sony changes it a couple weeks then we will get a burst of info, but probably no price yet.
