New Details on Max Payne 3 - News

The latest issue of Game Informer has some juicy new details on Rockstar’s Max Payne 3. For starters max will be sporting a new look. Max is now bald, bearded, and addicted to pain killers. This new addiction has an affect on the gameplay much like a system found in Kane and Lynch. Max has hit rock bottom in every sense of the word and has found himself in Sao Palo, Brazil.

Max Payne 3 is looking visually very similar to Uncharted 2 (stunning), with vibrant colors and fully destructible environments - all powered by Rockstar’s RAGE engine and a procedural animation system. Expect tons of battle in urban ghetto Latin American neighborhoods with plenty of new weapons. Bullet Time is back in but will be more visceral and ultra-violent. Even more good news is that Max Payne will indeed feature an online multiplayer mode. Max Payne 3 is slated for a Winter 2009 release on PS3, 360 and PC. dude Max Payne was addicted to painkillers all along! That's hardly new...

Long over due game however. One of the first games to use rag-doll almost perfectly.

On paper it sounds great since Max Payne 1 and even 2 were very fun. I just have a feeling the story will not be what it was with Remedy which is a shame since the first Max Payne had one of the best game stories. Also bullet time is overused so I hope they change it up somehow. Im not expecting this one to be amazing but hopefully Im wrong ;)

i don't like new image of Max though i hope the game will be good. now i really don't know which title to buy WET or Max Payne 3:/

Its like Rockstar looked at all the ways Ubisoft was about to screw up Splinter Cell: Conviction with originally and decided to make those mistakes themselves. Now with Ubisoft realizing the whole older hobo druggie look is garbage and actually focused on making a good game, the much needed druggie hobo genre has a new king.

I loved the first 2 Max Payne games but I'm starting to think the odds of this matching the quality of those first two is about as good as the chances this game actually comes out in 2009 which it probably won't.
