The Fox Innovation Lab and filmmaker Ridley Scott have teamed up to create a virtual reality game based on the upcoming film,  Alien: Covenant.

The game will be released as a paid title on major VR platforms. There is no release date on the game, however, the film releases in May.

"Viewers will discover the true meaning of terror as they navigate through horrifying alien environments and a story where every decision could mean the difference between life and death," said The Fox Innovation Lab.

Ridley Scott is the executive producer on the game and will be directed by David Karlak.

"We see VR as a new media opportunity, not just a promotional vehicle," said 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Fox Innovation Lab President Mike Dunn. "Our intention from the moment we developed our business plan was to be in the commercial VR business."
