Oculus and Mojang announced Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta now supports Oculus Rift.

It is a free update to for all existing Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta owners, otherwise it is available for $9.99 in the Oculus Store.

"The world of Minecraft comes to life in VR. This update comes fully-featured, with controls specifically optimized for an intuitive VR experience," said Oculus in a blog post. "Be sure to take advantage of the awe-inspiring, fully immersive first person mode, as well as a theater view for a more comfortable option. And with features like Realms, you can create and adventure with a group of friends or family in your own permanent Minecraft world that’s always available.

"The developers at Mojang and Microsoft worked closely with us to bring Minecraft to VR. Here’s a quick look at what went into making the game an incredible VR experience.

"We think Minecraft on Rift is a powerful VR experience that will be even better when Touch support is added for free later this year. We can’t wait to see what players do with a new perspective on this sandbox game."
