PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Europe Lifetime Sales – March 2016 Update - Sales

Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Europe’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

 

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in Europe in March shows how much the PlayStation 4 has dominated in Europe and has only grown its massive lead month after month. It has sold nearly two times more than the Xbox One and Wii U combined.

The PlayStation 4 has sold 15.93 million units lifetime in Europe, the Xbox One 5.47 million units, and the Wii U 3.15 million units.

Taking a look at the marketshare, the PlayStation 4 tops the other two platforms combined. The PlayStation 4 has 65 percent market share, the Xbox One sits at 22 percent, and the Wii U 13 percent.

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 15,925,597

Xbox One Total Sales: 5,474,115

Wii U Total Sales: 3,146,472

 

The PlayStation 4 has outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U every month since it launched in November 2013. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U in March for the 20th straight month. The PS4 outsold the Xbox One by 415,385 units for the month and the Wii U by 486,528 units. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 71,143 units.

When you compare monthly sales to a year ago all three platforms are up. The PlayStation 4 is up 75,312 units, the Xbox One is up by 28,691 units and the Wii U is up 35,288 units.

Looking at market share for the month of March, the PlayStation 4 managed to achieve 71 percent. The Xbox One accounted for 19 percent of the consoles sold, and the Wii U a modest 10 percent.

PlayStation 4 Monthly Sales: 569,842

Xbox One Monthly Sales: 154,457

Wii U Monthly Sales: 83,314

i still dont think PS4 will beat global sales of PS3. sales will drop off or slow down massively when it hits 60 million. this gen has a whole is a massive decline from last gen.

So your saying sales will be flat start of 2017?
I dont know... 2016 has so many big games releaseing, I think people will have more reason than ever to get one. PS4 Neo will force the normal version drastically down in price too, why would that make 2017 sales bad?
